Distance???

:pimp:I have a 1000 watt hps in a room that is 7x7 all white interior so what I would like to know is how far should the light be from the top of the plants without harming them. Fans are on and it's all vented . Please help for I don't want to burn my BUDS.:thumbsup:

place the back of your hand under the light. if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your girls.

when you do the back hand thing always still observe your plants for a few days. i did that method and i thought i was far enough away but it started curling up my leaves a tiny bit and burnt one fan leaf tip, so i just raised it up a few inches from there and made a drop string for future references.

Hang that big gun no less than 2 ft. from the tops.Vent the hood!Use a glass shield. It will lessen your lumens but,140 thousand, plus lumens is great.What size is your fan for venting?Do you have an intake blowing fresh air in?

Hey thanks for info ......i have been growing for awhile but was not real sure of the distance...the light has been around 18 to 24inches above and I have had no problem with burning. in a room that is 7x7 what do you think...how many plants in 2 gallon pots would be good. one more thing how tall do you let them get before they go under the big light. my fans are big enough to handle the heat and fresh air . thanks to all:rasta:
