Comedy section?

Wait a sec, though. Don't we already do that in the main lounge anyway as a part of routine, friendly discussion? Does it really need to be a new sub-category? My take is that it's nice when it occurs spontaneously in the main lounge, but, then, I'm weird.

Ah but Music not only has its own subforum.. its got its own full forum AND category. Besides, part of the "high" experience is how great comedy is... why should it be completely blown off like it is currently?

McLeodGanja, you're a comedian and don't even know it --- "nob gags" is a hillarious turn of phrase, teaming with multiple meanings! You could spin out about a half a dozen dirty puns using "nob gags" in less than a minute!

My kind of humor is exactly what you are talking about, Birdgirl --- spontaneous jokes about the topic at hand and smartass cracks (or smart ass-cracks) feeding off other posts. It usually happens in the lounge, but it crops up in all the forums.

Otottoto, what did you have in mind? A specific place to actually tell a prepared joke with a setup and punchline?

My solution to the problem is to introduce a comedy sticky armpit thread in the TV & Films sub forum. Then we can all go and "spurt one out" in in there if we feel the urge to tell a nob gag.

My girlfreind has always been a sucker for a nob gag. She can spit out a nob gag like nobody's buisness. Of course you have to be careful, because you can bite of more than you can chew and end up blowing your nob gag.

I'm talking about a place to talk about professional comedy.. like standup performances, which should NOT go in the TV area, although it would make sense for comedic shows to go in this new section rather than the TV section... Going to stand-up performances high is absolutely amazing.. why not have a subforum for things just like that? I mean we have a philosophy section for goodness sakes... why can't we have an area designated solely to comedy?????

I can see this as a forum in the hobby section. (But I would also support a Nob Gag forum. All Nob Gags all the time!)

I always thought "Purple Banana" was some kind of euphemism, like, "Hey, Lady, wanna see my purple banana?" But then in your signature it says, "I'm a chick" so I assume you do not have that kind of purple banana.
