400 watt hps lights

Hey does anyone know the cost of running a 400 watt hps bulb 24hrs a day? How much do you think that will cost a month?

Check your power bill for your price per KWh; this is the price that you will pay for using 1,000 watts every one hour. Multiply that price (in dollars) by 24 (for hours) and then by .4 (for only 400/1000 watts) and you will have your answer.

I believe my last bill was circa $0.10 a KWh, so that would be .1 x 24 x .4, which would equal $0.96 a day.

My 400 hps cost about 43 buck's a month at 18 hours a day on.That is a magnetic ballast. The 600 digital ballast cost even less to run a month if you have the ventilation and the height to run the 600 at 24 hours a day. More light slows growth. Not lumens but hours of light recieved per day. You still have to take into consideration what it would cost if you added the fan you would need pumps you would be using.If the lights are on and the fans are running all that is included in what it would cost to run a 400 for 24 hours a day.Gainsville hooked ya up with the formula.
