Okay! Say I have 2 bedrooms to use, and maybe a little more space if I have to also. Money is no object here but lets try to save it ;) I'm thinking a 20 bucket homemade ebb and flow system in each room with a 60 gallon res for each room. Then a 8x4x7 veg/mother room in the extra room outside of the bedrooms. For lighting I'm thinking four 600 watt HPS per flower room and two 8 bulb T5 fixtures for veg and mothers. Veg will only be 2-3 weeks. Now I can't decide between a 12 inch inline exhaust (2156cfm) for each room with a 4000mg/hour ozone generator in each for each bedroom (with passive intakes from outside) OR a window AV unit in each room. If I don't go with the buckets I will have two 8x4 foot flow tables in each bedroom but I much prefer the buckets. Please give you advice and opinions on what would be best here. This is in a mostly hot climate (Fl) too. Oh yeah let me know what you think about fans or AC for cooling. Thanks everyone:rastasmoke:

The first thing you need to do is to figure out the area that you are going to light, then figure out your ventilation requirements from there. You want at least 50 watts per square foot; so 4 x 600 watts = 2,400 watts, divided by 50w/sq.ft. = 48 sq. ft. You can increase this area slightly with light movers, but not a whole lot. You need to look at the size of the area you want to light, then figure out what lights and reflectors will best serve the footprint that you want to light.

Just for the hell of it, let's say your bedroom (or the area within the bedroom that you want to light - the footprint) is 10' x 12'. A 1,000 watt lamp in a rectangular reflector will light a 4' x '5 area, so you would need two rows of three 1k fixtures to light that area. (If your room is, say, 10' x 14' or 12' x 12', you could increase your light coverage to take in the entire area by using light movers, so keep that in consideration when you are figuring out the ideal lighting.) Three 1k air cooled fixtures could be vented with a single 6" fan; ergo two fans per room. These fans could also provide your fresh air intake. These exhaust systems will be moving a lot of heat, so you want to exhaust them outside if at all possible. If you put carbon filters on the fan intakes, that would probably be sufficient for odor control also. If you have a lot of twist, turns and long runs in your exhaust lines, you might have to increase the fan size, but that's a design thing that has to be determined when you know what your duct runs will be.

...just a little food for thought.

Good luck with your project!

Big is not always better. Don't forget about your electrical signature. With that kind of power needed to produce what you are trying. Would be a big use of power. If your bill jumps from 200 to 600 a month then there is a RED flag. Start moderate. 1 400 and maybe some flo's,fans and the Big Gun,that 1000 watter! Bam!

Okay maybe I should just say I would like to harvest 6 pounds every harvest or it isn't even worth my time. Is this possible with what I'm talking about or less?

.05 grams per watt per month. You do the math, I'm too tired.

start small aim big.. keep it real with your electricity, all that heat could hurt you in the end.. i would say go with less plants, cut and prune your plants into bushes so you will be able to harvest close to a lb per plant.. otherwise start lookin into SOG methods, you probably will only need one room unless your trying to do some risky business..
