Night Cycle in Veg

Just wondering if interrupting the night cycle is detrimental to the plants in the same way it is in flowering. I was running 24 hours of light until I read in Jorge Cervantes's book that plants can only process 18 hours of light, so I put my old mechanical timer on the veg side but the door to my room leaks some light. Is there anything to worry about?

As it is on a lot of forums, the reason is most likely to avoid people posting nasty things and then deleting them before moderators can substantiate them. While there's a lot to be said for a delete button, you might be surprised what can happen on some forums when there is one.
