Question about Legal Issues (DXM)

Okay, my friend told me you have to be 18 to buy cough syrup that has DXM in it. Is that true?

I have a couple months before my 18th birthday, and I can't get ahold of anyone who is over 18 to buy them right now.

no u dont have to b 18 here (PA. USA), but wehre i live the stores are carrying the robitussin and other cough medicenes with a lower level of DXM(10mg/serving) thats basically 40mg in a 4 oz botle, it sucks and i havent dmx tripped for like 4 months bc i dnt feel like drinkin 4 bottle(that would be so damn gross.

.....here i can walk in to a store buy 3 or 4 bottles of max strenght cough (if i still did it i could buy four or five boxes of coricidin too) without being questioned.....just depeneds on where you live....and dxm is illegal to use to get high....any drug on the market is illegal to use against the instructions on the bottle/box.....but they can't reallly prove anything unless they see you chug it or your dumb enough to admit itto a law enforcement officer and helll even in some states admitting isn't even enough to be arrested.....

you have to be 18 at most stores to buy coricidin, which isnt the safest thing with dxm to trip on anyway. you can be any age to buy robitussin or vicks or anything else with only dxm in it.

Okay, I just bought, and chugged, Robitussin Maximum Strength Cold and Cough.

Active Ingredients:
- DXM: 15mg per 5mL

It was 4 oz, so I got about 90 mg. I hope SOMETHING happens. The most I've ever done with DXM is taking 2 capfuls, and I really don't get that fucked up. But...this is 3x more than anything I've done so, let's see. ^_^

90 mg can't be right....i've chugged the same ammount with same dose it's closer to 300 somthing.....

How do you figure it out?

The cap is 5 mL, right? Well, it was 6 caps. 15mg per cap. 15 x 6 = 90

That's how I did it.

ok i was wrong.....if there is 15mg to 15 ml then that's 1 mg to 1 ml so to find out how much you chugged look on the label and it should say 4 FL OZ (118 mL)...just replace the mL with mg and that's how much you took. easiest way to find out how much your taking.....

It's 15 mg DXM in each 5 mL teaspoon.

I feel really relaxed right now. Like...almost as if I'm high. Not stoned, just high. I have a good buzz going on in my body. And I've just now realized my mind is screwed. I was typing this and then I turned and looked at the TV while still typing. Then I looked back at the screen and wondered how the hell all my thoughts ended up on the screen. ^_^

I sat and stared at a blank webpage trying to remember what I brought it up for, for about 3 minutes before finally closing it.

All in all, it's actually really fun. Can't wait to try the 8 oz. ^_^
