whats the best way to germinate seeds i just put them in moist paper towels and keep them in a warm moist state for 3 days or so and they usually sprout a 1" root....are there any down sides to this??

Yes, there are down sides.
First, the root is VERY delicate. I never let it get more than 1/4" out of the shell. The longer it is, the greater the chance of breaking it while planting.
Next, the tiny hairs on the root can become entangled in the paper towel and make it even more difficult to transplant without damage. Again, this can be minimized by planting sooner.

If you are trying to link search results, vbulletin doesn't really do that well. I come up with "page not found".

My favorite way to germinate is in a cup of water. No worries about soggy paper towels, etc.

It's all preference though.

That's odd, when I checked the link last night it was working just fine. But this morning I'm getting the same message you did. I'll try this one more time, then I guess I'll just quit linking to search results if the same things happens. Currently, there are 103 separate posts with "germination" in the actual title - click here (http://boards.cannabis.com/search.php?searchid=1830351).

Sorry, didn't know the pages expired so quick. I was just trying to reiterate that the Search/keyword feature works very well...especially when results list keywords in the title. Sorry everyone.
