hi how are you guy. well any ways i have has 2 crops so far first was smiter mite and i only got a QP it was bad for using 1000w and 16 plants but bugs kill then well i learned my lesson there then my 2 crop i got 1/2 pound off of 8 plants and 400watt hps universal bulb. now i am trying again do not know what i am going wrong i follow the fax farm fertilizer instruction so you know what i am feeding them i do not know what plant they are i have just got them for free you could say and right time right place type of thing the 1000 w i use befor on crop one was borrowed and i when with a 400 w. the stuff i grow was good. but i trying to get more out of what i have and i need help i am trying to get 3 oz - 4 per week i am asking how many plants do i need i am looking at getting ak-47 for the plant but how many do i need and is my light right i have 2 cyclicals going veg is 400w hps and so is the flowing one i try to keep my ph at 6. in my soil i water about once ever 3 days 4 cup per plant and in my hydro i change water once a week for fertilizer i use fox farm to a T. using the big grow and bloom and tiger bloom. so i am try to see if i need more plants or what i veg for 1 month and flower for 2 so any one have any idea or you need more info i have it all lol

so if i was to grow ak -47 in DWC or Soil how many plants would i need and light if i wanted to get a pound a month on average

to get a pount a month you would need say 6 plants every month, and 4 monthes each would be ready, so you'd need 6*12=72plants (if they were all females,) and 12 light systems

You need 2000 watts of HID light in your flower room, approximately, and a continuous canopy (SOG, SCROG, or equivalent), and all your conditions dialed in properly.


Yield per month does not depend on plant count. It depends upon watts of HID light in the flower room and skill of the grower.

so what would be idea then for me right now i have 2 400 hps bulbs and i am having 10 plants under each of them on in flowering one in veg 1 month veg and 2 month flowering.
so do i need to change stuff around and have 800 hps like use both lights on flower ing and then get some more lights. or what would be the best set up. and for fert i use big grow, tiger bloom, and big bloom , from fox farm is there any other nutrients i should use. is dark energy good ? i know there a lot of veritable. i just trying to redo what i have to make it work better because my last 2 crop was only Q P for 8 plants

If you have the space, make a permanent flower chamber that is 3 x 6 feet, which is the correct size to run a pair of side-by-side hps400, and then do your vegging under something even as simple as a couple 4', 2x40w T12 tube cool white flouro shop lights which will run you a total of less than $30 at home depot. Keep the plants low and short, and less than 3" away from the light. If you run 24/0 in veg, you don't even need to worry much about creating a grow chamber for veg, since light leaks aren't an issue in constant light conditions.

to get a pound a month you need to harvest "x" amount of plants each month

X is a variable that depends upon plant size, veg time, training technique, etc.
For example, a SOG grower would be happy with half a zip off a clone flowered the moment it's rooted in a quart pot. You'd need to take down 32 of these per month. But a SCROG grower would harvest a SINGLE PLANT to get that. Get it?
The constant is light:

0.5 grams per watt of HID light in the flower room per month of flower

is scrog growing where you but the screen over the plants, and what do you mean by half a zip off a clone . i have been thinking for flowering my clone when they are at 6-8 in. right now all i do is flower at 12-14 in and veg for 60 days. also can you flower 32 plants with only 2 400 hps bulbs if they are only 6 -8 in call when you start flowering

To achieve my goal, I would need then 2 3x6 flowering areas with 32 plants in each or just one 3x6? I am also looking at doing the SOG idea to see how it goes. I know it's a high goal but I'm getting better all the time. Thanks for your help.

I recently got 2.5 lbs from a four plant scrog in a 3'x6' cabinet WITH 1,400 WATTS OF LIGHT. The point you keep seeming to miss here is that your yield is going to be determined by your lights (+skill +strain +technique), not by the number of plants you have.

2.5lbs is 1120 grams.
Assuming that you are running an AVERAGE indoor strain, I'm going to do the math using 8 weeks flower...
you get about 0.4 grams per watt per month. Drop flower time to 7 weeks and you hit that magic .5 number! Nice going, PC! :D

The strain was White Widow. Nutrients - Advanced Nutrients three part, CalMag+, Liquid Karma, r/o water. You veg until the screen 50% to 75% full, depends on the strain and how much it stretches during the first 2-3 weeks of flower. I'm growing in coco coir.

Re. the nutrients: I recently switched to CNS17 and I love the way my plants are looking. CNS17 is a true one-part nute - and it only costs $25/gallon.

i also have a question where i see soem pic of scrog and i see it with a DWC method you have a rubbermaid container and with water and air pump but how do you change the water when the plants start to go in to the screen

No and no.

CNS17 has Grow and Bloom. For about two weeks, when you first flip to flower, you mix the Grow and Bloom. Other than that, it is completely one part. No need for CalMag, LK - nada. (LOL ppms @ 75% of label are 1386ppm in r/o water, so it's not like there's a lot of room for anything else.) I think I read of some growers using PK13-14 for a couple weeks during flower, but I'm not really sure about that and, since I'm not flowering right now, not too worried about knowing until I need the knowledge - I mean, why forget it any more times than necessary?

If you're really interested, and can't find a CNS17 label online, I'll transcribe the contents for you.
