ive recently started trying to roll joints. takes me a long ass time and lots of frustration trying to do so. i havent been using a roach or anything just paper and herb. is there any specific material or techique you all use to make roaches? also any advise for rolling would be nice. getting the paper to tuck in between the herb and other side of the paper is where i get the most trouble at. :rastasmoke:

pieces of card not too thick you could just buy a roach book from a headshop pretty much anything can be used as roach as long as its not too thick, if you use rizla's the green bit of card at the back of the packet is one of my favourite things for roach

I use the card outers from my cheque books. Works perfect, perfect thickness. Just the best roach material ever. And doesnt unroll. And its easy to make the Z/S inside. And its tough enough that it doesnt just go soft and ruin the end.

should just get a roach book tbh 50p for something like 70 roaches just tear them out saves finding something all the time and seeing if its the right length thickness or material

I've done that too, and you're right it's perfect. My only worry was smoking too close to the roach because of the ink, so I've only done it as a last resort.

Thats a good point, although its never bothered me [probably because i've never though about the ink lol!]

I also sometimes use dentist reminder cards.

I usually use my cigarette pack...dunno how it is anywhere else but in Canada you just tear the side strip ooff the cigarette pack, there are two, one on each side.
Or you can cut the empty pack into strips, and thats what I use for filter normally...try it out.
And for rolling...theres a hell of a lot of videos online, just watch one, slow it down if you must, and you will learn. Good that you bother to go through the frustration of it, because you won't learn if you don't keep practicing.
Good luck.:D

playing cards! i have a box just for roached. bicycle cards are the best i find, the roll up really smoothly then they expand in the paper to fit it perfectly

The best bit about using playing cards is when you roach the ace of spades, and you can see it through the rolling paper.

you're right...and the tab from the side of the pack is almost always the perfect size for a snug-fit inside the joint...i use them all the time or if i'm out, then i will just use a piece from a packet of papers.

rolling is simple, man whether it's joints, blunts or mini-cigars of course you cannot feel so confident until you've done it a few times. after that you'll begin to notice yourself experimenting with your technique and then you'll be gravy. i took rolling to another level--the competitive level. my friends and i would sit down to see who could roll the best joints or blunts, we didn't judge them afterwards but it was a clever way to learn to roll.

Rolling competitively is definitely the best way to learn! I used to do that with a mate of mine and rate them out of 5 stars. We'd start off making 2* J's, but after a few weeks, we'd constantly craft 4* or 5*. I've just realised how sad that sounds. But anyway, it's a good way to learn.
