Beautiful Amsterdam

Hi folks!

I'm back, and here with me, I'll provide some pictures of my travels. This is the first segment, Amsterdam.

I can't tell you with words what a gorgeous city this is. The city is much more than a haven for stoners, and prostitution. It's such a gorgeous, walkable city, beautiful canals, buildings and way of life. I grown to appreciate the city as a whole. If you decide to visit, you should do more than get stoned, because Amsterdam offers so much.

I have a lot of pictures, so it'll take some time to put them all here. These pictures should give you a taste of what Amsterdam is like, and hopefully inspire some of you to go sooner. Everyone has to visit XXX once in there life!

And you are right on about the ignorance, I'll admit myself I had no idea what a gorgeous city it is and all the activities you can do there. It's the combination of personal freedom, and cultural heritage is what makes Amsterdam so beautiful. It's a city like no other, and in some ways, the city being synonymous with drugs and prostitution has tarnished it's image. I enjoyed looking at the art of Vermeer much more than getting stoned in a coffeeshop. If getting stoned would be one's sole goal of going to Amsterdam, you are better off saving your money to stay home and get stoned.

That's partly why I made this post, to show Amsterdam is so much more.

I remember the first visit to see The Nightwatch , it is still one of my alltime favourite paintings , I could stand and stare at it for days it is so beautiful.

Ah, I remember that one all too well.

This was my personal favorite by Vermeer.

I have to agree that it is a wonderful painting, the atmosphere and clarity is beyond most artists ability and the "feel" of it is one of warmth and familiarity.
Amsterdam has so many museums dedicated to art that it is well worth a visit just to see them .
