Going to use this log as a general log of the growings in my garden unless a specific grow deserves otherwise. The folk who helped me in my last log may recognise I have some new growing space. I have got two of those grow tents at 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 m. I still haven't got the extractors so still suffering the heat although I a currently on the case of this & have bids on 2 coolshade setups. Either way I'll get the extractors within the next fortnight.

The second pic is of what will hopefully be my next main mothers right & left are Super Silver Haze from Greeenhouse seeds (Some rather tasty freebies to entice my vote :)) & the centre one at the back is Crimea Blue from Barneys. Not impressed by Barneys 3 from 5 germed of the Crimea Blue & 0 from 5 of the Violater Kush. For 35 odd euro zero is rather a naff return. These arer also the ones I nute burned they are just over three weeks old, but were already at this size by 10 days when I tried a small dose of nutes & am busy now trying to recover them. I have some SSH seeds left so may start new ones.

Pic three the seven little seedlings are two week old White KC's from KC Brains. Not that impressed by those either from the last time so just growing them out & may keep one as a mother if it proves itself to be worthy.

The clones in the NFT tank are the Skunk again just doing myself some stock while I wait on the new stuff. Was a case of show a friend how to clone & the results were varied. If the two little runts don't get the act together they are getting taken out & I will move the better one to the centre of the tank. Quite happy to test the theory of using LST etc that I can get the same yield from one plant as four in the same space.

The soil is new to me & basically any tips advise etc on either medium is welcomed.

Here Ive got my bonsai Skunk mother flowering at about 25 days. Not overly worried about yield as I am really just putting her through the cycle as attempt get her what we call a hardy plant before being revegged & moved to some nice hill.

Couple of comments the pot is to small for normal flowering but this is intended to remain a bonsai or at least my attempt at one. My lights without the coolshade can bleach the colour out your eyes & so far all my plants have gone very yellow on the leaf. I happened to notice on a YouTube vid that the KIWI Seeds growers get the same issue so I'm not panicking over it.

Hey JH, what again is your grow's area? Is it two tents for flowering? What size is your veg area? And, what is your lighting arangement with the CFLs in the veg area? And finally, what watt HPS lighting are you using for the flowering areas?

Thanks,

Shov

Thanks for the replies. Shov the veg area is one tent & the flowering the second tent, Im saving up to get a small workshop but thats quite a bit away yet. In the veg tent I have the 250 W MH hanging over the NFT tank and the CFL set-ups I made have three of those 20W/100W environlites. I plan to upgrade this to some proper big CFL's in the blue range, but first thing for the funds is the coolshades & extractor fans. The HPS is a 600W & I didn't expect it to be either this hot or cause bleachng as bad. A bit of a live & learn situation over the last two grows with it hopefully Ive learned and am busy getting it the 6" coolshade with inline fan to cool it down. Hopefully that will do the job as I read on one of WH's threads that was the best size to use. Not sure if I can also use a Y or T piece in the ducting to then also pull the air out of the tent but will ask more about that later.

I'll post more pics when I pull the seedlings out for watering.

Zebulon you are in good company the SSH is also my sons favorite strain from all that he tasted on the cup tour round Amsterdam. Considers himself very lucky the seeds were included in the goodie bag.:)

hey all

First pic is of the new reflector's any suggestions as to which would be best for each task. I was thinking the SuperNova for the vegging tent & the Coolshade for the Flower tent. Now I need to organise the extractors. COuld I run ducting from a spigot vent in a wall to the coolshade then for there to the next tent through the Supernova out into an inline fan with a carbon filter.

Second two pics are of the Crimea Blue I nute burned. It looks like it is coming back to me even turning more green on its new growth.

The soil used is Westland Multi Purpose Compound which looked like the one with the least nutes in it at the only garden centre local. The link is for the one I use if there is a better soil available from there I would buy it.

Order Westland Peat-free Multipurpose Compost with added John Inne for home delivery at homebase.co.uk (http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=186313)

I mixed the soil & perlite at 50% although because I thought the top of the soil looked to dry to quickly I initialy then covered it with perlite. However the next I looked the perlite looked to be going brown from burning so I scraped it out in case it caused damage.

These pics are of the SSH again which got nute burned. These don't look to be coming around as good as the CB although all were flushed thoroughly for 10 days minimum. Since then they have been getting watered every second day & a very mild does of Superthrive .5ml to a gallon every third watering.

Any suggestions on how to save them are welcomed although I think it could be a case of starting some new ones.

EDIT: The water is out of the tap PH tested at 6.6 the run off water from the problem plants is CB = PH 6.7 & both SSH = PH 6.8

These are the WHite KC seedlings. There in the exact same soil mix, but have never had any extra nutes added & don't seem to be doing to bad. However they don't seem to be growing as fast as either of the other two strains in he soil.

Hey Jack....do you keep that SSH on the ground??? i mean it's maybe that the ground is cold, and you know, the roots don't like too cold temps...anyways nice work so far, keep up the good work...
That CB looks real good...

JH nice set up!
Zebulon maybe right, I have seen where plants closest to an outside door were getting a slight draft from outside and were showing the same symptoms while the rest were fine.

Thanks guys I'll have a check for drafts, the plants are sat on top of a seedling tray in the green tray to catch any run off but also keep the bottom of the pot out of any water.

Well from checking the International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - The Complete guide to Sick Plants,pH, and Pest troubles! (http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688) & watching the colour of the WHite KC seedlings it looks to me now that instead of an overdose of nutes there all suffering from nute defiiciency after being flushed.

Have watered all the soil plants with a .75 ml nutes .45 ml of Superthrive per 2 litre litres. The nute are advised at 2 ml per ltr so thats just under 25% strength & the ST works out about 90%.

Will see how it goes & post a weekly update of pics at the end of the week.

FYI the dosage on superthrive is 1 drop per gallon and I tested this at the lab with a liquid of comparable viscosity- 1 mL of superthrive is 40 drops- that's 40 doses. You have locked yourself out badly and will need to do a foliar feed immediately with a complete grow fert.
