Ok so I was just curious as to what some of the symbols mean. When I read posts I notice that under the "user name" it says "REGISTERED" how come some people have a + next to it? Also, I noticed that some users have a green bar to the right whats that? And under that green bar some users have a Y! and some have a little pic of a man. What does all this mean? Just Curious

I can't tell if you took P4B's advice (tried to give it some time to see if you figured it out) but there are 2 stickies about the rep system (the green bars), another one on the plus symbol (new member privledges). An advanced search using the term "disabled" looking only in thread titles and only posts in this forum for some of the threads on disabled rep. Finally, go to user cp (control panel) and you should see what the Y! is about.

I know I sound like a total moron but I don't know where to find where the "stickys" are located. I searched through the forum home, searched the word sticky, and even looked through the faqs but couldnt find it. I must not be looking in the right places. Sorry Im not the most knowledgable when it comes to computers. Its not a big deal though I mean Im not gonna die if I dont find out :)

At the top of most of the forums (thread listing) you'll find the Stickys; for example in this one the first is:

Sticky: Banned members

This designates the thread "Banned members" as a sticky which basically means that it will always stay on top of the thread listing.

Oh yeah, just in case.........if you click on "Feedback and Suggestions" that is where you'll find the "thread list". I recall the days when this was all new to me also.

Great its getting easier everyday. Can I ask if this site allows chat? I clicked it and the other person on it sent me a mess but this warning came up with a link. When I clicked the link it said the site admin can be emailed about this problem. I didnt send it, it wasnt a big deal. I saw 1 person in chat is that normal or do people just not use it? (i dont know how to chat)

XOXO
Thanks Guys

Psycho4Bud gave you a textbook definition of stick, it's a thread that stays on top of the other threads so it doesn't get buried and is easy to access, usually because it has good information or is very popular. Sticky threads are designated simply by the word Sticky before the thread title. Now if someone could just tell me if the plural form is stickys or stickies I would be ever so grateful as this has confused me for some time now (not the only vBullentin board I post on).

As far as chat goes LuvFriday, it goes through cycles. Some days no one is in the chat room, the next day it is filled with people, just depends. There are some chat room regulars as will find. The link that I use for the chat room is in the green tool bar near the top of your page that contains other links for forum home, user cp, forum rules, etc. I don't know how you are trying to get to the chat room (the thing about a member sent you a link? :what:) About the error message, I've never seen or heard about it. Make sure you are running the latest Java software. If this doesn't work as well as the link on the tool bar, let us know and we'll investigate further.

The plural would be "stickies," FBR. Just like party/parties or pastry/pastries.

If the singular were "stickey" with an -ey, that plural would more likely be stickeys like turkey/turkeys.

(Like that even matters!) I consider myself a step ahead if I know what kind of post it is. . . .
