Here is the almost finished project. Well the light part of it anyways. Pics included.

What this is is a frame I build from furring strips that holds 12 4' floros. all 12 are 3000k and are 32watts each.
This puts out about 33,600 lumens which is around 3,360 lumens per square foot. and a total of 384 watts of floros which equals 38.4 watts per square foot.

remember these are floros not HPS or MH bulbs.

here are some pics. this system is totally home made except for the ballasts, tubes, and connectors.

Let me know what you think of it. I need to fire proof the base of the bassalt control setup though. if a ballast fails it coul dcatch the platform on fire so that is the only issue I see so far.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

lol you noticed the teddy yeah that was my sons.

oh yeah i got some space.

like i said 6'lx3'wx6'h

but useng 1 foot for storage.

so a grand total of 15square feet of space. and 90 cubic feet @ 6' fall. I will post more pics when the cab is fully built.

I did assemble the frame last night and installed the lights. Only 6 outta the 12 bulbs are working though I think I have a grounding problem but I will find it to night.

Kinda weird because 2 ballasts are working fine and the other 2 seem to be working but don't seem to have enough power. Plus my wife wants me to fire proof it so i need to get some fire retardant from work today.

updates will come................

oh yeah and there will accualy be 2 grow chambers when I am done. I will have 2 x 3' chambers. they will be 6'x3'x3'.

This shelve will be removable though so I can grow a variety of strains.

Well one problem with that is the money. I got the ballast for free and I don't have the extra cash to buy an HID right now. So sooner or later I prolly will upgrade but at the moment that isn't possible.

I really like it. I wanted something like that but I could not find the proper parts. I got lucky with my HID, it was used in an industrial freezer. 400watt MH. It cost $55, and I spent $62 on a conversion bulb, so now its a 360 watt hps or 400 watt mh for $117. I am tempted to get another one.

I like your lights a lot though. I would love to try and grow with what you got. Good luck and may the force be with you. You should try different bulb combinations on each side and you could compare which ones work better, no more guessing.

Thanks. I will know how she works when it comes to grow time.

I found all my parts at lowes in the US. but the ballasts as I said I got from work. But seen these at lowes also so i know where to get replacements.

Sounds like you got a good deal on that light of yours though. I wanted to use a HPS and a MH but don't wanna have to deal with heat problems. Plus I could build another light system and run 2 shelves or Lowryders. Still stumbling over what I wanna do. I was thinking about trying some White Widows. But haven't really decided yet. So I will know I guess.
I will be adding more lights though for subplimental lights in the corners and around the sides but not needed as of yet. So time will tell and I will figure out entirely what I am doing. I will be posting more pics of what I got done here shortly. I have to tear down my grow room because it doesn't fit threw the doors in my house and move it to the bedroom then I will take a few more and post emm.

Ok I will be back on the boards in a little while.

Here are some updated pics. I figured out what the problem was with the light and they work great now. I just need to come up with a system for lowering and lifting the lights. The room is no where near being finished yet. Still need to finish it. Ran outta money though. So gotta wait till my bills get paid to see what I have left to buy supplies with. Still need to put the reflective coating on the light system. Will happen in time.

Here are some more pics of the lights while they are turned on.

oh and this is a hella lotta brighter then what they appear on here i had to set my cam to the sunlight setting to take the pics without glare.
