First, Yes I read through the stickied thread, but most of the agruments were pretty lame against having one.

Sure it could be exploited, but couldnt members simply report abuse of the PM system to the admins, and then that member could be banned? A website wouldnt be held responsible for the content of Private Messages anyways. The same way Myspace and every other site isnt held accountable for the content of Private Messages.

And there are plenty of great uses of PM's; hell ive been here 2 days and I just wanted to give Angry Nomad a heads up that 2 of the email address he posted for contacts at fox news, were returned as Mailer Demon. I didnt want to make a post on the forum about it, since it isnt really important, however I dont want other members wasting their time sending emails to addresses that are no longer in service (this is all regarding the Ron Paul exclusion from the debate in New Hampshire)

Also, What about members who become friends here wanting to exchange email addresses, or instant messenger names?

Im in no way trying to stir trouble, but I find it a bit silly that every other site allows this, but this one cant. Hell ive even seen sites dedicated to opiates and mushroom sites still have a PM system with absolutely no problems and they have now been around 10 going on 11 years.

It would also not affect the server any more than someone making a post. Maybe limiting the mailbox size would be a great idea. Maybe limit it to like 20 messages saved at a time per member.

To keep PM's disabled is to keep this site behind the times. And really keeps people from becoming personal with other members on the site. In my opinion.

On a side note, this is the most amazing website/ forum ive seen yet. It has everything that sites like myspace have, but for cannabis. and the arcade feature is absolutely amazing.

Also from a legal standpoint, allowing members to upload music is far more risky than having a PM system. Since the server would be hosting music and files that they do not have the right to host. (Im assuming you guys havent got the license to host the music)

Anyways, I just wanted to give some feedback. But again, this place is awesome. Keep up the great work

The site had PM's at one time, for paying members, but the premium memberships were discontinued. They also had free classified want ads for medical purposes, but this resulted in many scam alerts, ripoff complaints, slanderous messages and other problems. I had a gold membership, communicated with some people, and didn't have any problems for the brief time I participated.

There are other ways for people here to get in touch with each other off-site, if they put their minds to it.

I posted where to find me at the cannabis cup, and a bunch of people did find me. I also posted how to find me at the Hempstalk festival. You can always find a way to meet IRL without PM's.

I like the 2 cans with a string between them...as long as you speak loud enough the other person can hear.

Just use instant messenger... worked for me!

True. I guess im just as paranoid about making my messenger names public as I am making my email address public.

We live in a time where just about anything can be found online and if you voluntarily give out personal information you are putting yourself at a greater risk.

PM's just make me feel a little safer about my privacy.
