HI,
What is the correct ppm for the first week of veg. Is 800-1000 way too high? Plants are drooping and noticed some brown tips on roots.
thanks.

I'm pretty new at hydro, but 1/4 nutes the first week is common advice ... so, that should put your 'correct' first-week ppm around 300-350ppm (using reverse-osmosis water) ... browning of the tips usually indicates nitrogen level is too high ... doesn't hurt the plant if kept to a minimum, I almost always have just the slightest bit of tip-burn :smokin:

Usually my roots fry if I get over 700 PPM in the first week or two. If your plants are drooping that's definitely not good. I'd suggest taking it down to around 500 or lower and let them recover and then try to get it around 700 or so. It took about two days for my plants to turn around last time.

What do you mean by the first week of veg? If you sprouted a seed it is vegging, and until two weeks after that it should have no nutrients. Then add slowly and gradually each or every other feeding, starting at 1/4 strength or about 350 PPM. Any more and they may fry like a pie in your eye when you lie.

1st week is a difficult question, because 1st week out of seedling or first week from clone. But if you are just starting out the nutes go from 300 to 600 to 750 to 900 to Flower.
