Some earrings, some new Asics sneakers, a knife-sharpener and wall-mount magnet holder I wanted, a nifty Calphalon professional non-stick soup pot/steamer, a Herend rabbit for my collection, some underwear, and some books. Oh, and my husband had my car detailed, got a fence repair guy out to fix a problem area, and installed that magnetic knife holder for me. I give this year four stars our of four. If anyone gives me anything, I consider it a four-star occasion.

Let's hear some more about what other folks got . . . .

I only got 3 things for christmas. I got some D&G aftershave, some jack daniels whisky fudge [it'll take me about a year to finish em coz im not the biggest fan on sweet stuff but they're quite nice] and i got a silver plated knuckle duster for my mantle peice.

Out of all of them, i'd say the knnuckle duster was best, but that's only because it was the most expensive and looks good, it even fit right in the space above my fireplace.

A carton of new floorboards for my living room, from my dear friend and fellow grower Chron.

A new exhaust for my jetta, from my dad of course.

And this little girl, who made me start to believe in Santa Claus again- I had just had to put my old dog The Tess down and was feeling so blue. But just before Christmas, I found this silly pup at a city dog pound. She is some sort of bulldog or mix of bulldog, looks exactly like an Olde English with her stubby thick legs and muscular build, possibly an AB with even some boxer mixed in- look at that snout!-, but she's ALL bully sweetness (and drool).

Her name is Patsy and she's a love.

I got underwear and a radio and slippers, too. Those are pretty good presents!

I got a couple of gift certificates and two books I was wanting. Two golf shirts. A watch from my wife. Some ski boots. A few DVDs. My parents gave me two nice sweaters and some ties and dress shirts. I like everything I got, but the watch probably takes first place. Our son gave us a together present of a new color printer. Plus he hooked it up and installed the print drivers.

I almost feel guilty, I got such wonderful things!

The biggest surprise was a 57" tv. no freakin way. i love it!

this really nifty pipe that lights itself with its built in lighter and has a built in sliding bowl cover called a solo pipe. Its metal and i prefer glass, but damn if it aint too much fun to use. I dig it.

Perfume I asked for- Lolita Lempicka

new bath towels!

beautiful silver hoop earrings and bangle bracelet

a few gift cards

a bread buddy (tupperware type thing to put your bread in to keep it fresh and stuff) ive always wanted one of these!

dishes

And tomorrow I dont have to work and no extended family will be here so l finally get to hang out and enjoy it all.

My fave part of Christmas was getting to hang out twice w my cousin who is home safely from Iraq. Second was going to a family gathering on Sunday at an Aunt and uncles house- i havent seen them in years and i got lots of hugs from people who were as happy to see me as i was to see them and my other aunt played piano and we gathered around and sang for an hour just like it was 1978, it was surreal and sweet. And thirdly seeing my daughter open all her goodies and declare it the best Christmas ever and mean it.

You're right Steve. One of the best gifts I got was a new chance to have a better relationship with my mom. She's softened lately, and went so far as to apologize for pushing me too hard academically when I was very very young. That meant more to me than any gift you could hold in your hand. I've always resented that she refused to admit that perhaps I wasn't a stubborn kid after all, but one with normal desires, like playing in the woods and going to sleep-overs with my friends. I have begged her for years to admit that we all need more balance in our lives. Now I want her to have that balance in her OWN life, and laugh more.

Toys are fun, but love is the best! I can look back on times in my life when I was really poor, and they were not the worst times- the times when I was alone and without love were by far the hardest. My sister and my niece are coming to visit for the weekend, and I haven't seen them in years, so that would have to be the favorite gift to come-

For Christmas, as always, my dear husband dutifully bought the catalog clippings of clothes I set out on his desk- :D
I most love my new purple suede ankle boots!

The best gift I "gave" to my husband is a Vapolution - I adore it! It is so easy - I use less weed, the taste is much better, and it spares my lungs. I'll keep green swirly the pipe around only in case of power outtages. I am completely converted to the vapor:thumbsup:

Stinky, I am so glad you got Patsy! I can't wait to meet her.

Hi all,

You had to ask. My gift came straight from God. Iā??m not a religious fanatic or anything. I believe in God , but not organized religion. Anyway my gift started right after Thanksgiving, I found my self in the Christmas spirit. Normally I get depressed around the holidays. I donā??t know why. Iā??ve never had a traumatic experience at the holidays or anything like that. But, for a month now Iā??ve been singing Christmas carols out loud at work. I let my wife record all the old Christmas specials on our DVR, even though Iā??ve bought her all of them on DVD. I havenā??t once changed the TV or stereo off Christmas music. We went to a Christmas tree lighting ceremony the was cool as hell, (so was the weather that night). We rode a trolley seen over two hundred decorated Christmas trees. My neighbor and I organized Christmas caroling in our neighborhood. It was great, I hadnā??t done that since I was a teenager in the seventies. My wife and I started a new tradition. We decorated our first Gingerbread house. This year was a kit, next year will be from scratch. All this might sound hoakie to you, but we are broke this year, my wife has been out of work for 18 months now. It is tough just to pay bills, let alone be in the Christmas spirit. But Iā??ve been bustin at the seams with it since Thanksgiving, and lovin it. Oh, did I mention I got to play Santa twice this year. I made $120.00 for a total of one hours work. That helped, my wife and I got to spend fifty dollars each on us. So even our tree was not empty this year. All round it was a great Christmas. I hope you all had one also. I plan on keeping Christmas in my heart all year this year.

Happy New Year everyone.
Merry Christmas if I'm not
around next year to wish it
to you.

Entourage Seasons 1+2 on DVD, Ocean's Thirteen DVD, Rock Band for 360, Bioshock for 360, New jeans from Express, A Bob Marley 2008 Calendar and a 1/2 Ounce of Super Skunk :D

That looks interesting Monkey, I think I might pick that up.

Let me see, I got:
-Two pairs of shoes (I LOVE SHOES)
-Call of Duty 4 (I'm a gamer)
-Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
-Earbuds ( I got an archos[MP3 player] as an early present)
-A 13 month subscription to Xbox Live (mine was just about to end)
-And $200.

The earbuds are from Skull Candy and they are called SMOKIN' BUDS. I just thought that was funny/weird that a mainstream company would pay homage to MJ with a product name.

Conches - the book is awesome. It's a nice hardcover but not too big, so it's easy to display on a coffee table or end table, and it gives a nice overview of the whole festival. I've never been so I can't say whether it captures the event well or not, but it's pretty sweet to look at and think about.

I got other gifts, several more expensive, but this was by far the best, because I hadn't asked for it, didn't know it existed, and yet it was still the PERFECT gift for me!
