Hey guys, i just landed my hands on a 150 watt and 250 watt HID (you see the light in the pictures in my previous posts).. well i had the 250 watt one in first and i checked them after a day on 12/12 and the room was absolutley boiling way too hot for the plants (i do have a fan in there pointed above the tops of the plants trying to cool it a bit but it makes no difference.. the plants seemed to get a bit flimsy so i took the light out and stuck the 150 watt in and got the same problem... so at the moment i have the 150 watt in there and the door of the closet open a slight bit. The plants have been on 12/12 for about a week and a day now, and everytime the lights on i have to open the door a crack to let out the heat.. this isnt the best of ideas but i cant see what else i can do, the plants look nice and there both females so i dont wanna kill them.. can anyone suggest something to get my out of this prediciment? I can't afford to buy more lights that are cooler, im broke.. so any DIY stuff i can do or a cheap solution.. thanks in advance :)

Peace

if there is an attic above the ceiling you can install a nautilis bathroom fan, around $20.00,it's easy to set-up and run's very quietly, you will have to cut out an 8" hole to install it,other than that you will have a hard time trying to dump all that heat....good luck, bonbon

Thats a good idea, however the grow room is in the attic already, its an attic conversion... so i can't really do that, any other ideas? Thanks.

you can install a attic exhaust fan that come's with a thermostat, most do,you will still have to cut out a round hole in the roof and seal the flap with tar,but you'll dump heat and oder to the great outdoor's and have greater temperature control,i just put one in for my mother last summer to help the central air run less often ,fairly easy to hook up....bonbon
