Official Website - TheUnionMovie.com (http://www.theunionmovie.com/)
The Official page has a higher quality version of the trailer, but unfortunately no information as to when we can expect this on DVD, or better yet, have an American nationwide theatrical release, but that probably won't happen anyway. (on a side note, am I the only one that LOVES the background music to their main website?)

It looks really good and well done, I'm surprised there isn't enough interest to get this into more theaters, looks like they are having a hard time getting it on any screens! They are not doing a very well job of advertising, after all, if cannabis.com members don't know about this documentary months after it's Canadian release, they aren't doing a good job getting the word out on this movie! I saw this clip some time ago, but have heard very little about it or seen anything other than this one clip.

Here is a YouTube clip of the trailer being discussed. Watch it, send it to friends, talk about it!

Why wouldn't they release the whole thing online?

They need to make their money back, doesn't exactly look like a cheap production and with what limited theaters it has been shown in they probably are struggling to break even. They won't release it on DVD, or online until they can't sell it in theaters any longer.

What I'm hoping for, but unfortunately probably won't happen, is that interest picks up and more theaters start showing it so when it comes to the US it'll be available across the nation. Most likely it will go straight to DVD in the states though, the movie has been out since the summer, if it's not gaining interest by now it won't be picking up much more anytime soon.

hha, crude

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
And she's gone

Lucy in the sky with diamonds

The Beatles

i watched the music video to this when i was high and had like a little crazzy fit

If I'm not mistaken, it's still looking for a distributor. Hopefully, the buzz travels far and this makes it into U.S. Theaters. But I think it might just go to DVD. In any case, I'll buy the dvd.....without hesitation. Good stuff.

Maybe soon the government will make it illegal for the sun to shine, or for it to rain or snow...How long does it take them to figure out that they cannot stop a plant from growing?? They can limit the amount of chemicals available to make drugs, but they will never be able to reduce the amount of water and sunshine that makes marijuana grow...

I heard some pyschologist say that the reason MJ is a gateway drug is because it is actually considered just as dangerous as the harder more addictive stuff like crack, heroine. And when a young mind smokes some herb for the first couple times they start to wonder..."Hey this isnt as bad as ive been told in school and such, they are probally lieing about the other drugs too." When in fact you only need to hit the crack pipe once for a full on addiction.
Just a theory.

Sounds like a biased psychologist to me. That'd be similar to saying that alcohol and tobacco is as dangerous as the harder drugs (which, in reality, it can be), and stating this just because of the tendencies one may have to become addicted. MMJ is far less dangerous than the other legal toxins available on the market today, far less physically addictive, and far less likely to make one develop life-threatening health problems.

A 12 year old who gets hooked on cigarettes or alcohol is just as likely to get hooked on crack later on. It isn't the addictive chemicals they're using at an early age that determines this, it's the predisposition to freely try these addictive chemicals in the first place.

Why don't they just release it for free, this movie was made last year and they still can't find a distributor? I'm sure any distributor they finally get isn't going to let them take home much profit, so might as well just leak it out for free.

Did anybody go to the LA Premier to see this? I did :)
(thanks to Justonevoice for the info!)

Great documentary, however I was disappointed they didn't interview, (anyone?), on the prohibition side of the issue. However, it was chock full of marijuana prohibition history and gave a very interesting insight into the business of marijuana, and how prohibition causes it to be highly profitable. The business aspect is mostly focused from a Canadian point of view, so what was said would be sure to surprise any average American used to insane penalties for growing/selling marijuana. Lengthy doc, but good.

Unfortunately I didn't get to stay after to find out about any info on a DVD release, hopefully that is to come soon.
