blow torch help

i am using a bernzomatic blow torch. i know this sounds stupid but how do i light it? or does it lght on its own after a while. it is a 14.1 oz. tank and has the standard pencil nozzle.

once the gas is flowing put a match to it. this will ignite the flame.

1. release the valve on cylinder slowly enough so u can really smell it. 2. Roll a joint 3. Insert joint in mouth. 4. Inale as much gas as u can. 5. Click on lighter. 6. Now ur real high but in small little pieces.

how do you burn a hoel in a glass bottle with a torch lighter? right now i have a sobe bottle bong with no carb :( .

not a torch lighter....just a plain damn torch....and for me it takes maybe like 10 or 15 minutes to get the glass hot enough to puncture it....the key to doing this is take it slow....and make sure you keep the rest of the bottle warm while doing it....otherwise i always end up with explosively shattering bottles (not fun when a million fukin peice of shit lil shards go flying all over your skin while they're still 300+ degrees lol) after about 50 bottles i finally managed to get a couple with holes....if you have any tips i'd be overly grateful....

Get the bottle hotter, slower. I would suggest perhaps an oxymapp torch with adjustable mapp tank and oxygen tank valves ($50 from Sears, with tanks - READ INSTRUCTIONS). Just heat it up with the straight mapp flame (maybe with a touch of oxygen, not too much or you'll get a very hot flame), and gradually work the bottle over with the flame slowly until its glowing red almsot white hot, then I dunno what to do, but I like my cutting torch :D

well ususally to put the holes in the bottle i use a screw driver and push really fast to prevent too much stretching....when it stretches to much it's basicly fuked cuz it makes a huge ass hole lol thanx for the tip..guess i'll have to get one....a friend of mine also suggested oxymapp torch since the flame gets hotter.

Burns at 5400*F if you can dial in the oxygen level correctly... Of course at that level with those tiny 1.4 cu. ft. tanks you only got about 8-10 minutes of burn time. Thats why I would say heat it up with a brazing flame then crank up the oxygen and burn a hole in the glass.

No. The trick to keeping the glass from shattering it to heat is slowly and evenly, and cool it slowly and evenly... I do not know how to control the rate of cooling though.

i do .....i can keep the bottles from shattering sometimes with a propane torch...i was just wondering if using the oxxymap makes it less likely...all you do is keep the same flame the whole time (don't have to be hot enough to puncture the glass) and work your way around it evenly in a pattern of moving up and down while slowly moving around for about 3 or 4 minutes moving the flame slowly away ...very slowly....pain staking process and if you don't do it right yous tand the risk of getting a million red hot shards on you which is a real pain literally.

hmmm i know of a way to control cool down but i dont no if itll work learned it in art class but some tribes that did glass would build a fire and when its burned to ashes they would stick the glass in the ashes and it would gradually cool down

im made hundreds of homemade bongs, and ipes, and so far the sobe bottle hits me harder than alot of the others..... of course not all tho. the way i made it was i put a hole in the lid and used a rubber stopper and a stem with metal cone shaped bowl. and the nail and the hammer works best for the bottom if u get the right sized nail. the key to the entire this is getting the perfect sized hole at the bottom bcuz thats how fast and steady the water goes out. reccomend try it, took me 10 minutes to make, with the right equipement, and made well.
