Rankin and Bass? Jimmy Stewart? Denis Leary? What TV specials or films make it Christmas for you?
For me it's It's A Wonderful Life and The Ref.
Merry Christmas everyone.

I don't know if Better Off Dead counts as a 'Christmas movie' but the reindeer costume scene and the ski race scene are classics, and it's such a fun movie.

yeah good ones, but the best is Christmas vacation. I just finished watchin it and I am still laughing 15 minutes later, when that old lady at the end yells "play ball", that just tops it.
"Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse. "--Clark Griswauld--

I think "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Story" get way too much airtime at this time of year. I was sick of those two movies years ago.
The ones I like are
"The Bishop's Wife" with Loretta Young and Cary Grant
"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (I think I've reached the saturation point on it, too)
"White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney
"Home Alone"

A Christmas Story, written by master raconteur and inventor of talk radio Jean Shepard, is very good but I don't watch it every year.

Oh yeah I forgot about Christmas Vacation. Awesome film. My first year I was married I spent about $500 on lights and took a day off and went apeshit on my house. The ex still calls me Sparky.

Home Alone 1 and 2 are always a must see during the holiday's. reminds me of my childhood cuz i was a child when they came out.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is now a ritual of mine to watch every year a couple of days after Thanksgiving to get into the Christmas spirt. i love chevy chase.
A Christmas Story - for the last 3 years or maybe even more, it has been on tv for 24 hours starting Christmas Eve. i always watch parts of it, but never the whole thing at once. well this year i finally watched the whole thing and now it is part of another ritual to watch it on Christmas Eve.
A Charlie Brown Christmas! classic.

A lot of my favorites have already been mentioned... but probably my favorite of all time is an old made for TV movie with Ed Asner called â??The Gatheringâ??.
