First of all welcome to my grow log.

I'm an outdoor grower whit almost 10 years of experience so this grow is just for fun, so i have a little fun in the cold winter months...
Whit this thread i want to show, that you don't need the best equipment to get nice results.I don't smoke really that much,and i don't want a really big yield, i want good quality chemical free, organic weed....

Setup.: is real simple 6 X 23W CFL,the 2700K-type, 8000lumen, proc.cooling fan on top of the box, passive intake on the sides...

Soil.: A mix of leaf compost from a close-by forest, some composted cow manure,some flushed potting soil, zeolit powder...
I use organic nutes, Bioplasma and Biofluid...
Bioplasma is a Clorella algae extract whit bioregulators:wtf: and mikro, mezo and makro elements. Biofluid is similar....

Plants.: The plants are from F2 seed.
The two on the left are Trance-plants:) ,the two on the right are Afghan...

Any updates yet? I must say this setup looks great for being cheap. :thumbsup: I have some questions:

Is it a 24x12x12'' box? So 1 sq ft on the side (bottom)?

Do you have 3 lights on the top, 2 on the side and 1 on the other? Is there a reason for this instead of 2 on top and on each side?

Are all 4 going to be females? Is this is enough room for 4 plants? How much do you expect this to yield when all is said and done?

It's been a wile since the last update....i been lil' busy whit :bonghit:and stuff...:abduct:
Everything goes well, i have 1 trance and 1 afghan plant left....done some LST, so they look now nice and bushy.....
the other 2 became males so i killed em...:rambo:
I have transplanted them into bigger pots about 3 weeks ago, so they got now more room and are growing real nicely....
4 days ago, on Sunday i have set the lights to 12/12...

Bought new nutes one week ago, the Canna products Bio Vega and Bio Flores. The plants seem to like it ,cuz they are growing much faster since i use the new product...:thumbsup:
Only problem is that spider mites have invaded my girls, and i simply can't get rid of those bastards ,the tobacco juice ain't working too good....

I started to prepare for my outdoor growing too, bcuz spring is not so far away. I'm gonna do some Guerrilla Farming, and i have big plans...:D
Got 5 mazar seeds already , ordered a pack Power Plant seeds yesterday, and i have couple of those afghan seeds left too...

Well i don't think that it will catch fire, those cfl's are not so hot...you can touch it whit bare hands, and it won't burn your hand...

Yesterday i made some Green Dragon, using Master Wu's recipe...i have to say it's a pretty potent stuff...:stoned:
It's a really great way to get high, gonna make some more when i have enough bud...

Week 3 of flowering.....
Everything goes well,the buds start to show nicely...
i am happy that i managed to keep that trance under control, it's growing like crazy and i was afraid that it won't have enough space....but i think it will be ok...
The afghan is a little strange....it seems to me that it's not gonna produce real big bud's...or maybe, what i am hoping for, this plant is showing the bud's later than the trance...
Well anyway the plants look good, i got that spider mite invasion under control too.... i really can't wait to harvest em, cuz then i can start to grow the plants in the box that will go outdoors....:D

Week 4 of the flowering has begun and the smell is in the house....:thumbsup:

The plants had a little N def. I only gave them Bio Flores and it looks like that stuff don't has enough N...or i started feeding to early...anyway now they get a mix of all the nutes i have, a little form everything, and they seem to like it...
I also started to build a second grow box, so during the flowering i can veg new plants...and i gonna use the second box for cloning in spring-summer... i will be taking cuts form outdoor Power Plants, and flower them indoors...and maybe i gonna make a SCRoG grow..
it will be a great fun...:jointsmile:

A few things about my Trance and Hungary...:

If you ppl. have ever visited the site of Sensi Seed bank, they have strains called Rudelaris ... Here in Hungary there are really some wild growing cannabis strains , but due to the growing of industrial hemp in the past, these strains are not pure ruderalis, and they have a little or no potency...they flower really early, in august...so outdoor growers like me grow strains that flower a little later; in September, October; so the fruit of our work is not full whit seeds...i tried growing early skunk a few years back, but it had so many seeds that it really sucked...
This wild hemp is real interesting for me...it grows like crazy, can reach a hight of 6-10 feet...it is almost indestructible....

The Trance that i am currently growing, came originally from Dutch Passion seedbank, was quite a nice strain but it wasn't a big yielder...it started flowering in early September, so the wild hemp pollinated the Trance...
Most growers would not use such seeds , because due to the wild hemp the end product will have a lover potency...but I was really interested how the plants would look...
So the trance that i am currently growing is a mix of two strains or maybe more...and maybe it will not be so potent like the original , but its grows like crazy and has a much bigger yield...

SO i was thinking that i gonna try and crate a strain myself...
I have lots of these "Rudelaris" trance seeds....i will grow a few plants in spring, and gonna cross it whit Power Plant...it will be fun...:thumbsup:

The plants are flowering nicely,but the afghan still has yellow leafs despite the plus N...the trance looks really good....
I have finished the building of the second grow box, so gonna start germ. some seeds soon....

The Afghan and the Trance are looking good, the new vegbox is ready, so i germinated some seeds....
1 mazar, 1 indoor bagseed, 2 outdoor badseed, 1 afghan, 1 uzbek....

The soil is the same as by the others, but this has more leaf compost in it (collected a few days ago in a close-by forest)...
Soil...: leaf compost, flushed potting soil, cow manure, zeolit powder.....

The 2 outdoor bagseeds hatched already, so i planted them...

That plug would scare the shit out of me!!
I have an electrical background and have a few recommendations.

You have to replace both the outlet and plug if you don't already know that. Then try to break up the load on two different circuits. I also recommend checking all conections on that circuit for any over heating, exspecially the circuit breaker. I would hate to see you burn your house down.

Great grow you have going there.

That mylar is a REAL bitch to hang up isnt it...

I finally got mine up and flat as i could get it after a roll of duct tape and a roll of foil tape lol

I think ill try and find a sturdier reflective surface next place i grow.

Well i don't really know mylar, never used it before.....alufoil is really cheap, that's why i use that, but it always gets creased...

I took a little bud of the Trance and smoked it, because i was afraid that it won't be very potent, but it is really good, a nice sativa high...

I had a little problem....i would be happy if somebody could help...the lights didn't go on this morning, cause i forget to turn on the timer yesterday(i was really stoned)....so they had like 20 hour darkness...so my question, how bad is this???

Yeah, in end of veg. and beginning of flowering....in the first weeks of flowering the plants grow really fast, thats when more adjustments are needed....but it is real simple, you just tie em down...;)

You live in a beautiful place, Zeb.
I am wondering where your fan leaves are? The LST job is excellent but you really want to leave the fans on so that the plant can make sugars. Your bud mass will improve if you leave the fans next time. Also the plants are showing signs of being too large for their pots- this is late in flower so re-potting won't make much difference, but the downturned, cupped-under leaves are telling you that the plants are rootbound.
They look bud-iful though!

Where are the fan leafs?? Well some gone yellow, and fell off and i had/have a spidermite invasion, and i took some of the leafs off...i know i shouldn't...
I really would loved to transplant the plants into bigger pots, but i have limited space...these pots fit just right in my growbox....
I am not really a pro in indoor growing...this is my second growth, but i am happy whit the results...

Ahh, mites. Yuck! I understand now.
Well every grow gets better as we all know and that one is already solid. It looks like you will get a respectable yield from it!

If you have any way to keep even a small mother and take clones from her, you can do future grows as rooted clones flowered VERY VERY small using those flat pans as a soil BED, rather than one plant per pot. While putting multiple plants in the same pot is not commonly done, if you are using identical female clones off the same mother, your major problems (crowding and removal of males) become not a problem!

What magnification ??? I dunno...i had an old, not working binoculars which i have taken apart, and whit the variation of 3 lens that was inside, i made this gizmo...i have attached a tube to the lens, so it fits my camera...i think the magnification is between 5-10X...

Well people the Trance is gone...it was mostly cloudy, so i chopped it up....it was really difficult for me to kill this plant, i felt sorry for it....but oh well...this is the way of life...you live, you die, you get smoked....:stoned:
Not the biggest harvest of my life, but it is something...for me it is a big thing to have fresh bud in the springtime....i don't have a scale, so i think the total dry yield will be around 10-15g....not much i know, but it is something...

So here are a few pix of the rootball...or rootbrick...or whatever...

Well, the Afghan is harvested and drying...i have found 1 seed and !!! 1 !!! single pollen sack on the plant, so i gonna make maybe a few Mazar x Afghan seeds....
Now that the older plants are gone i put the new ones in the flowering box they are 3-4 weeks in veg at 16/8, gonna leave them for another 1-2 week vegging....the 4 plants are 1 mazar, 1 outdoor bagseed, 2 Uzbek...

A smoke report?? Well there is not much to report...it's not the best weed i have grown, you can get high from it, but it's not a one hitter....
The afghan has a nice smell & taste and it's stronger than the other plant...

Some good news... we had lots of good spring rain, and the temps are getting higher so i sharpened my hoe, cause the outdoor season is starting real soon, i will start to sow the seeds for outdoor in a few days...gonna start a new log...i hope all of you who have visited this log gonna visit the other one too...

For the indoor plants , i have transplanted the mazar and the outdoor bagseed plant in the tubs of the previous plants.
The mazar is a girl the other plant hasn't shown it's gender yet...:hippy:

Well the truth is i don't really know what a smoke report should look like...i have never made a smoke report before...it's kind of difficult to describe the flavor...
Other thing i figured is it's to early to say anything, it's not cured properly yet, but i tried it already....and you can get high from it:D What do you ppl. would like to know?? the taste?? it tastes like marijuana...;)

Marla has been transplanted, i hope i didn't gave her too much soil - hope she will not outgrow the box....that's a piece of an old cotton T-shirt under her, so the soil won't fall out...the soil is a mix of perlite and potting soil which has a ph of 6.5...it has a good drainage...

Ahh now I understand where the box fits in! It fits in the cab! Word. You are golden! Trichs already, huh? Very nice, high five. I think that will be enough space to finish if she doesn't end up running more than ~8 weeks. Even then, you should be just fine. Can you remove the crate from the cab, or is it permanently installed? Is there air flow UNDER and BEHIND the wood crate? Even if you can slide a couple thin shims under there it would be beneficial to have the extra air flow.

Huhh...thanks for the advice, it's a great idea...gonna put something under the crate tomorrow, i think she will like some more airflow...yes the crate can be removed, but behind it, there is not much airflow...those regions are mostly dry, so there is not much danger of mold or rot, i think...

Now that the previous harvest has been cured for more than a month, i can say it's not the best smoke of my life, but i am happy whit it....this last grow was more like a test run, I figured this box is too small for 2 plants, they where terribly rootbound, and it caused many problems....this current plant, Marla, looks much better than the others did this time around....

Hey, thanks WhiskyTango.....:thumbsup: yes the LST is a really gr8 way to keep the plants at bay...i love it...you can bend the plant anyway you like...Marla was never pruned or topped, only lstd and looks so nice compact...

Well i gonna try to give a short report of the afghan...
First of all it has a nice fruity,a bit hash like smell....the fruityness is stronger than the common dank ganja smell, almost a little bit obtrusive....not very sticky but resinous buds....

The smoke is surprisingly mild at the beginning, later it gets harsher at the exhale...it has a taste like biscuits whit raspberry jam but also hempy...

The high is more heady at the beginning later it goes over into a nice relaxing feeling, i get a bit sleepy from it....I'm more like a sativa lover...

There is no sign of anxiety....It's relaxing....not very long lasting, but it's ok...

Altogether on a scale of 5 i would give it a 3 or maybe 3.5...

zebulon, you are an inspiration to both my first two grows this year. one outside with plants already being lst'd like that. They are completely horizontal being tied down with stakes and so far the results are amazing. Now with my small indoor grow under fluoros i think i can get a good yeild, i have 26,000 lumens inside a rubbermaid and ventilated very nicely.

It's day 37 of the flowering....
The buds are bulking up nicely, white hairs are still coming...first cloudy trics are starting to appear....the plant has a strong smell, it's resinous & frosty.....:jointsmile:
The BioCanna products and the Potassium Humic are doing their job nicely....

Originally, the whole propose of this log was to show smokers, who have only a small space and/or don't have much money, that it's enough to have a small box and a few cheap cfl's, to grow some nice buds...

Justanotherbozo directed me to Zebs page a few days after i started a cardboard box....Zeb has me convinced as long as the container can hold light....you can grow in it....nuff said.....Zeb the plants are looking incredible.....when do you start lst'ing them....Considering starting mine soon....just would like to get your input...But once again the plants look dank...See u soon...

Another great news is, i got 3 trainwreck seeds, 2 have already sprouted and i gonna plant them out soon....
This log will go on a summer pause, because it's too warm, and the nights are too short, but in September i gonna continue whit that last TW seed....
Maybe i gonna make a bigger grow box for the next season....

Thanks dude, sorry for the late response....
The box was something like 9x9x18 inch. but i dunno how many CFM's the fan had...it was just some proc cooling fan i found....

I don't know if i should continue this log, i still have that one last GHS trainwreck seed, but if things go well outside i gonna have enough bud for some time...it's such a great thing to have a small plant indoors, i can check it everyday, drool, etc...
But it's also dangerous...i'm kind of afraid around this time of year, so i think i will wait a bit whit the next indoor grow....

nice work zeb! i appreciate the thoroughness of your log. i have a cardboard box that i converted and was told what a fire hazard it was. so you use cardboard boxes yourself? no problems? no heat issues or anything. mine doesn't get hot at all. i am always home so i check it regularly. it was just something i threw together for fun but i think i might keep it after seeing your results. you just used 6 lights? and you had the passive intakes at the bottom and a blow-hole exhaust fan?

Yes, i have and will use cardboard boxes....i had no problems so far, i think the box can't get that hot if you have a fan and good air exchange ....but the electrical wires have to be installed properly, and have to be checked regularly....
Yeah, i used 6 cfl's, passive intake on the side, fan on top of the box...
You can use a cardboard box for growing imo, just check it often if the fan is running nicely, and make sure it's not overheating....

Well my dear Friends, after this very disappointing and sad outdoor season, i gonna start growing indoors again soon....
I have a little cupboard or commode or whatever, which i gonna make into a growbox....it has to be repainted and modified, but it will work nicely i think....gonna use cfl's...and i will soon plant my last GHS Trainwreck seed....
So, this log will continue soon, i hope many old and new friend will be watching....:hippy:

Description:
Biko Bx1. Flowering time 58-65 days.
A Biko Female was chosen and bred back to stored pollen from the ECSD V3.

Biko is Mind Boggle F2 (female) x ECSD V3(male)

Mind Boggle F2 is a Columbian bred to a G13 x Hash Plant and eventually bred again to BOG's Lifesaver in 2001 and created the F2's in 2006.

Sounds good imo...and it was really cheap...20 USD....

I'd been ripped outdoors because someone recons my yard and environs. I'm also afraid of having someone busing in the house and getting the grow there (We've been ripped off for herb and medicine before, twice I think). I have a heavy duty lock system I use when the buds are where they are at now.

The seeds i have ordered form seedbay have arrived...i'm very pleased, it went really fast...it took only 10 days from sending in the cash....
For my 20+5 bucks i got - 10 Biko Bx1 seeds, and as freebies i got 5 Mazar-I-Sharif seeds, original landrace from Afghanistan....
Gonna start growing em out in a few days, the new growbox is almost ready....:jointsmile:

Damn Zeb I just found this thread...Those lst'd plants looked good too. One of my last grows I lst'd also, LOVE IT. The plant looked like a mini X-mas tree lot...the pix are in my photo album on my profile page...

i'm gonna start a hydro grow with my brother pretty soon, but i'm keeping my little box at home too! it's fun and helps me with my patience, which lord knows i need it. i plan on either using the current box for a veg or flower room and making a new opposite.

i also have an idea to work on lighting. i'm about to see what i can come up with. using lights from the top and bottom. i think it will work fantastically with CFL's.

Bozo, I don't have an account over there....just lurking....

So, all 3 seeds have sprouted nicely and broke the soil....i got soil from outside where my outdoor plants where, screened the soil and mixed it whit perlite....i know you don't supposed to bring soil from outside inside, because of pests, but if my outdoor plants had no problem, i don't think there will be any problems indoors...
There is still lots of nutes left from the outdoor season, gonna use those...they are to following..:
-BioCanna nutes Grow & Bloom,
-Local stuff whit potassium-humic and micro elements,
-Bat guano tea and some honey at the end....

Gonna upload the first pix Monday....everybody have a gr8 day....:hippy:
