So for the last few years, I had been racking my brain for ideas, perusing the world for inspiration.. I want a quality effective vaporizor without paying 250 effing dollars. Im smart enough to make my own, all I need is to find all the right materials in different products. Inexpensive products.

The most important part is the heating element. I could heat it through conduction, heating the weed by putting it directly on the heating surface.. or convection, using air of the right temperature to heat the weed. To vaporize THC, it needs to be heated to about 380 Fahrenheit, so I need something that can get exactly as hot as I want it to.

For a while I was pondering on how to get a heat gun and control the speed of the fan, maybe blow the air through a compression chamber, then into my lungs.

Then I tried to search in vain for ceramic heating elements through internet suppliers. FINALLY I stumbled upon the perfect source: A hair straightener. They not only get up to the right temperature, but you can adjust it as well! Thank fucking god!

I started out putting the weed directly on it, then trying to collect the vapor with plastic bottles and bags and such. Then I took tin snips to a baking tray, perforated it with an awl, then folded it over into a wedge that I could put the weed into, then clamp the straightener down onto it.

Not done yet, but I will soon take some pictures, and keep them up along the way.

hahaahaha QUITE. Like I said, Ive been toying with this at the back of my head for a few years now. Im ecstatic that I managed to discover such a cheap and easy heating element.

I posted a topic about it in the lounge as its basically the only forum I visit, and here in case it gets moved here anyways :P

Also, Im looking for lots of input.. the people here are so imaginative and inventive, I wouldnt be surprised if somebody here can give me an idea for the perfect extraction chamber.
