I think that I would never put my mouth on a piece of labware until it has been washed in 50% HCl, soaked in deionized water, and baked off in a kiln at 800'C for at least 4 hours.
I run an analytical lab. Trust me on this.
Plus the issue of wherever you -um- 'acquired' that beaker from... I won't even ASK.

Did you buy it new?
I personally wouldn't smoke out of that if you got it from a lab.
Looks cool though.

I can't even imagine what might be in there. What kind of lab did you get it from? Inorganic or organic? Glassware that has been used exclusively for inorganic chem is generally easier to clean- just a good soak in fairly concentrated acid and rinse well with hot hot water. Anything from a lab doing work with pesticides, bio-chemicals, and other organic compounds MUST and I repeat MUST be baked off in a kiln before it can be considered safe.
Also yes if that is glue you are using to secure the stem, you should gently razor it out and replace it with a rubber one from the head shop.
If you must smoke out of labware, I'd follow these steps to make it at least a LITTLE less sketch using stuff you have around the house:
Scrub with hot hot hot soapy water, rinse.
Soak a week in white vinegar, rinse.
Soak a week in rubbing alcohol, rinse.
Run through the dishwasher.
Be safe and happy smokin'.

Two questions
What'd you use to drill it?
Does it have a carb?
Did you get it used?
...

Oh yeah? Blow up the first pic and look closely at the etch-lines above the 500mL marker on the neck... that volumetric flask has had something corrosive in it before.
A Dremel bit meant for tile and masonry is the best to use on glass. Keep the glass under water, both inside and out, while drilling. The one meant for glass isn't as good.

If you got it new, and it has only had tap water in it, did you allow the tap water to sit long enough to evaporate down a bit and leave calcium scale (hard water minerals)?

yes it was sittin for a long while.I'll clean out the limescale when I get a chance:thumbsup:

for the last time the beaker has never had anything but tap water in it.
I just realized the camera gave it a sort of yellow tinge that looks kinda sketchy, but the other pics I took you could barely see the shape of it because it was so clear.

I have to say I prefer a bong with a much smaller opening than many on the market- like that lab flask. I think anything more than about an inch in diameter feels kinda funny. And I may be imagining this part, but they seem to hit a little nicer.
