View Full Version : Any idea when the problem with the sign up page is going to be fixed?

I mentioned this 2 weeks ago. It's such a small thing it must be easy to fix. It is only allowing usernames between 6 and 10 letters. I want to change to a new account with a different name and the name I have chosen has 11 letters. Also, why is Scotland not included in the country of origin section?

Sorry, I am not trying to be a pain in the ass here, but does the lack of response to my question mean (a) nothing is going to be done and from now on only usernames between 6-10 letters will be premitted on the site, (b) we've already asked Sundance for you, we have no further information it's down to him now, or (c) it's going to be dealt with soon now please stop bothering us about it?
It just seems it will be in the interest of not only me to have a little more creative freedom in choosing usernames, 6-10 letters is very restrictive. It sounds like it is an error in the page and should apply to the two password entry boxes.

We would prefer that users stick to one user name. Multiple names have the potential for trouble down the road.
Have a good one!

I know but I intend to let you guys know when I register a new account, and I am happy for this account to be banned. I'm changing a new account as opposed to creating secondary one. I already discussed this with one other mod who said it was OK.

OK instead or replying to the seemingly undending daily torrent of "where's my thread gone?" threads - I know it must become quite irritating - why not ignore them and focus on my feedback, which I think is quite valid. Don't you want the sign up page to work properly? I know I am eager to change usernames ( I assume it is still alright for me to submit my current one for a new one so long as I tell you guys), but asides from that I think it is probably something the admin would want to know about. I think it is a mistake and probably should be corrected, it kinda doesn't sound like a difficult problem to fix either, but I might be wrong there. Normally on sites there are restrictions on passwords, and usually usernames, but I have never heard of a forum restricting the username to between 6 and 10 characters, I can't think of a logical reason for having that.

How all of the abover or more accurately, a little of each choice. No, I don't think you're being a pain about it though (from C). From B what we have is that I'm almost positive Sundance knows about it and we have no further information for you so it could be A or C.

I think I overlooked a D and an E in the grand multiverse of undending possibilities there too, hence the superposition of of the first three. Thanks for the feedback on that, I'll just be patient, I am sure Sundance is a busy man and Xmas is approaching...
