Hi everyone.

I know there are pics to find on this site and the faq and on Google, etc, but I also know that I am still unsure what I have because when I used to grow they were always female clones.

I have some Jack Herer seedlings and they have been in full flower (12/12) for 2 weeks and 1 day but being a Sativa dominant, I think this is why not all are showing yet.
The pics are of ones that are showing.

The first 4 pics are of a plant that I was confident enough in chopping at the time, but now I am having doubts again!
Too late though for that one of course!

The next 2 are of a plant still growing (I think its male) and the final one is of another growing plant but of its preflower appearing behind some small new growth.

Your opinions are much appreciated.
Thanks.

Here are the next 2 pics but only one of each plant, not 2 of one as I stated above.

The parts I have circled are pollen pods a definite indication of male plants

Thanks folks, just what I thought.
It looks like all my good strong plants could be boys and the shitters will be girls.
Only another 10 weeks til harvest... :(

Males are usually the stronger taller looking plants before flowering, all my big healthy plants in my first crop turned out to be male. Don't worry your females will take off and grow like crazy for the next 3 or more weeks.

Thanks Jerry but this has been a disaster!

I had 9 plants and just as you say, ALL of the big strong plants taking up all the room turned out to be male!
I have 2 fucking plants now or 3 if you include the dwarf stuck in the corner about 3 feet away from the light! :(

For the amount of money I've spent on seeds I could have flown to Amsterdam and scored the same amount of Jack Herer that I'll probably end up with! lol

I'll post some pics later for other noobs/forgetful people but I can't believe how obvious the difference between male and female is!
Its like day and night.

The females didn't show their pistels until well after the boys showed their balls but when they did it was clear.
From what I was reading I thought that the pistels grew out of the balls but in actual fact, there are no balls or anything even remotely ball like on the girls. Its just 2 soft white hairs that come from a point at the nodes.

Anyway, I'll care for my 2.5 children and hope the next 9 weeks goes quickly!
I have some Maple Leaf Indica seeds in germination and these will be my strain for a while as I will grow mothers from this batch.
The bottom line is that 12 weeks is just far too long to have to wait for bud, and I fear that the longer each plant is alive, the longer it has to get moldy or deseased or pests, so cutting 4 weeks off the flowering time is needed unfortunately.

Pictures of female pre-flowers.

The confusion between balls and what the 2 hairs grow out of is understandable but I would compare this female 'ball' to a single seed pod rather than a cluster of these on the males.

If you are unsure, just wait a few days longer and if there are clusters instead of pistels then they are boys!
