250w HPS Disatnce

How far should my 250w HPS light be from the top of the plant without burning or damaging it? any help would be appreciated

put your hand in-between the lamp and the top of the plants.....when you do not feel uncomfortable with the heat, that's the ideal distance.....should be at least 30cm\1 ft...there are ways though to minimize that distance......get a cool tube, or put a fan blowing air towards the bulb, taking heat away......hope that helped:)
