Here is a perfectly healthy looking female. Just showed sex this afternoon when I looked I saw the classic twisted little white hairs. However this is day 34ish from sprout as you can see the growth is stunted. At least I think so.

I am not sure if I should yank her and start over. My first grow was with NLX and by this time it was twice as big. This is a Jack Herer strain. I know there are strains that take longer than others but this seems way slow. Opie Yutts has been a gold mine of info on another thread.

It appears that the roots didnt explode from take off and that has impacted the growth severely. I have babied this girl and I sure would hate to yank it. Would it be worth the time to go to 12/12 and try to harvest a decent cola bud because thats probably the only bud I would get. I know it probably wouldnt be much but at least I could get to taste it and test the Jack Herer potency. I just dont know what to do.

I have it at 1300 ppm, ph 5.8 good temps all stats are dead on. I mean she looks great but she is growing so slowly. What do you all advise? If you were in my shoes what would you do?

It looks like its a decent plant. I would personally keep it going as long as its living, but some people like to cull the population and focus on the stronger plants. Its really just dependent on how much room you have.

How do you know its female if you haven't switched the lights though?

He's getting pre-flowers. Pretty common after a month in veg. Some people won't go to flower until the pre-flowers appear.

If you're growing several plants simultaneously, I would suggest leaving it and seeing what happens, like you said-test the strain. Sounds like you got a plant with poor genetics. If it's your only plant, I might consider starting over, though I can't imagine growing only one plant at a time. Not worth the energy spent on lighting, etc. The plant doesn't look unhealthy or stunted to me-I'm sure that it'll get much bitter when you change it's nutes and the light to 12/12. Good luck.

Well I am caught up in that F#$$EN ice storm that tore through the midwest and have had no power for 5 days now. Temps are cold in the house and total darkness. I am scared to even look at my girl. Looks like shes a gonner. I am not sure though. You think the marijuana plant is rezealient enough to pull through that. Like what if my power comes back tomorrow or the next day. You think its freaked out and hermie bound or do you think that when I go look at er she will be limp and lifeless. This fricken sucks!

If your plant hasn't had light for 5 days, its probably dun fer. If it IS still alive, its probably freaking out and trying to grow some pollen sacs to respawn.

She looked beautiful..Its very odd that the ole girls growth kinda stunted like that..

If you remember the pics of mine, the biggest one looked about half the size of your plant just a few days younger..Here is a pic i snapped of her a day or so ago....

Folks,

Got power back. Its bitter sweet. My desktop got fried so I have to get a new puter. Thinkin about a Mac. Nyway, The girl surprisingly looks about the same after 5 days total darkness and low temps. I got the 400 watts beeming on her now and the top shoots are literally sticking straight up. I would post a pic on the fly but as stated puter is fried. Should I just go back to the normal light cycle 18/6 or should I keep the lights on 24/7 for a few days. Should I pull er because the darkness has f'd er up and shes destin to be a smemale or what do you folks think? I seriously didnt look at er for 5days, I thought when I finally looked at er that she was going to be limp and lifeless but to my surprise she looks way better than expected.

Nothing notta zilch....... total stillness shes perked up nicely but I am still concerned about her turning hermie. Guess I will go back to the reg 18/6 light schedule for a couple weeks then go to 12/12.

That plant looks nice and healthy to me. I'm glad she pulled through the storm OK. It may have stressed her a little, but she'll probably be OK. And yes, hermies are a possibility, but rare.

As far as yanking it, I wouldn't unless you are battling for space. I've got 2 out of 9 that just kind of sit there. I would yank them, but they are at the back of my screen grow, so I decided there would be no harm in just letting them sit there, and who knows, they may even end up with some buds. I think it's mostly a space and time issue. If you have both, leave her, especially if you're short on weed. If you have neither, but you have plenty of weed I would get rid of her.

Back in business got a new computer but think I am going to need a new device to get my photos up. I changed to Mac.

Well the girl is really doing well, looks just as healthy or better than the photos above. I am not sure if I should go ahead and go 12/12 or if I should take a clone and start over.

Yeah the plant looks great but difinately stunted. IMHO. I would think that the clone would take on the same characteristics. Not start out with a killer root mass things like that.

If wrong let me know. Or should I just go 12/12 and try to get the best and biggest cola I can just so I can try the Jack Herer strain. I know a lot of you think I am crazy spending all this time and lights and energy etc on one plant but thats just what I am doing. I know its a female so thats a good thing. My last grow of NLX I started with 2 ended up with one female and she produced a 1/4 lb for me. One plant cured. I grow only for personal use and for the beauty of the plant. So there is no need for me to have 5 plants going at one time.

Just looking for advice on if I should go 12/12 on this one or clone it and try to get a better start from the clone and ditch the mother. What do you all think.

Ya sorry thats what i meant..Thats fuckin nuts bro...What kind of system did you use? Same one you have now? Just air stones in a storage bin? QP off one plant is just rediculous to me...I don't know exactly how many females we have out of 5 yet..but if i could get a ounce out of each female i'd shit my pants...I couldnt imagine if we got 4 ounces out of each girl...

How many grows have you done before? How long did you veg/flower...and one more for you, where did you get the seeds from? Im trying to get opinions on the best place to order seeds shipped to the US..

This was my first grow. One plant 1/4 lb.

I vegged for about 7 to 8 weeks and flowered for about 7 weeks

Same set up I am using now.

Got the beans from growshopalien. Very reliable. There is a thread on here somewhere about them.

Nothing special just some good ole TLC. The NLX was way better as far as growth rate than the JH. I think I just got a bad seed on the JH. But she still looks great but I wont get near the yield as I did the NLX but I am hoping the smoke will be more potent. I think that I have decided to go to 12/12 starting next week. I still have one seed left of JH so if the smoke kicks ass then I will have that to fall back on. I bought all feminized seeds and so far they have all been females. Except for one NLX which was a male but they were freebies and were not feminized. The feminized that I bought were JH, Sweet Thai and Sweet Afghan. So of all the seeds I have planted (2) NLX got one female and (1) JH got a female. Unfortunately however the JH has proven to be stunted but I should still get a good solid cola from her. I will be pleased if I get an ounce out of her.

Thats awesome..an ounce for one plant would be cool with me for my first..I'm sorry if I should already know this but, what kind of system is it? Do you just use air stones, or are you watering, misting??? Did you get 1/4 lb. cause of hte lights??? What is the average most people get per plant? I understand it varies GREATLY with every different person/plant/strain but is there anyway to know if you are doing shit right, got lucky, messed up royally, So on??? I mean maybe one plants potential is 4 ounces but i only get 1 or vice versa...I don't konw, i'm blazed and rambling..anyway i can only hope my plants turn out as great as your last grow..Thanks for all hte help..

Also what kind of PH/PPM meter(s) do you use??

In general the longer you veg the more you will produce because there will be that many more shoots to produce buds. I use a 18 gal tote with 10 gal of water top feed drip on a timer plus the roots are hanging in the water to. I meter my Ph and ppm with a Milwaukie SM802 its a great meter and has proven very nice and accurate.

Ive been reading great things about the milwaukees..I belive thats the directiong we are going to head as well..we've been doing this with no idea of the PPM level for the entire grow thus far..and checking and adjusting PH with the liquid solution and color chart on the bottle...Almost out of that so id like to have a digital one before running out..How much did you spend on both the PPM and PH meters..THanks

I think I spent about 125 USD for it. The Ph/ppm/ec are all built in. I just push which feature I want to display. I rarely look at the EC reading its basically a scientific notation of ppm I still havent really understood the difference between the 2. I just use the Ph and the ppm.

I just changed bulbs in my ballast to the HPS and did a res change. I still cant post pics as I dont have an updated camera that will go with this new Mac I bought. Gonna have to save up some money and get a camera. Shes about 2 feet tall lookin pretty good. As soon as I am able to get some pics up I will

You need to get a digital meter. Its worth every penny.

Just measured my two biggest and they are at 20 inches exactly...

Def need to spend the money on the meter..thats the next purchase.. as soon our funds recover from the holidays...

Well I tried to add my smart media reader to my mac and no dice. So I have to purchase something compatible for the mac in order to get some pics up. She is going on day 4 flower. The white hairs are starting to bust a move. Fingers crossed she will develop into some nice smog.

Well shes 10 days into flower I guess thats about right. Shes starting to form obvious budding sites looks good. I had some bad roots on the tips about an inch long so I cut them off with some scissors. I hope that doesnt freak her out. They were slimy due to lack of oxygen. I didnt notice but the slime of the roots had coated the airstones so I replaced them. Shes perked up really nicely so I think all is okay. I wish I had a way to get some photos up but i need a new camera and I just aint got the funds right now.

Based off your info bro I would say keep your ppms around 1500 ppms thats with your ppm from the tap water. Place more emphasis on p and k and back off the n. It doesnt matter how specific you are with the added 3 elements just use more p and k but just a little n, just hover around the 1500 ppm mark and you will be fine. Just dont want to burn em thats more important to watch than worrying about the specific amounts of each element.

Yes you want more Phosphorous and Potassium and less Nitrogen

Like I use Advanced Nutrients 3 part Micro Grow and Bloom. Grow and I use more Grow and Bloom than micro because they have more elements that a flower in budding stage needs which are phosphorous and potassium. Micro is heavy on the nitrogen element so I only use a little of it. Does that make sense. Look at your nute bottles. They should have 3 numbers like 5-0-1 etc the first number is Nitrogen the second is phosphorous and the third is potassium.

Hope that makes some sense!
