Sky Diving

I might be skydiving with a few friends come summer time. But anyway as me and my buddy were talking about this ( I was really high btw, so I dont know if this is a good idea) Sky diving while on X. Like pop a pill or two an hour before you jump...... Hmm....? Idea, suggestions, or Bad Idea?

I never sky-dived before, but I think that I would prefer to do the first jump clean, just to be sure, init...there is such a thing as being hypnotised by the ground (there is a proper term for it, but I can't remember what it is lol) - this is where the diver gets so mesmerised by the on rushing ground, that they forget to pull the cord!!! :eek:

But heh... here in the states when you skydive you have to jump with a trained instructor tied to you, your first few times you jump

Is it a tandem jump? If not, ou'll be on a static line if it's your first, most likely.

You don't need to be under the influence of anything your first jump. When you look out and realize the sky is pants-pissingly big once you're contemplating leaping out into it, and you've all but forgotten "Arch one thousand, look one thousand...etc." no further stimulation is necessary. I've seen (once) someone pass out on their first jump; it's a heart-stopper. Also, people get killed doing the sport, regularly. You don't want to be impaired in any way. Things can go wrong, under the best conditions. My first jump was memorable, in that I had to choose between a barn roof, a lot full of rusty, pointy-looking farm equipment, and a cornfield, as a landing zone. No prize if you can guess which one I chose (by the skin of my teeth). Your jumpmaster can make an "honest" mistake, and they can send you up on a day that's almost too windy, but not quite, and so on.

Hope you'll report back, and tell about your impressions of that jump.
