Howdy sawleaf,
Well I found the show to be very interesting and pretty funny at times too..especially when the republican dad went to a local gay bar and took some dancing lessons..lol.
However, I was dissappointed in the republican wife, even ashamed at times,by her behaviour and attitude towards the gay women. I think she went way overboard when she got into the argument with the gal she was staying with-and actually told her to "shut up" . I think that the republican gal was entirely too disrespectful and onerous, there ain't no call to treat folks that way..and I was ashamed of that and angry too. I also feel that there was never any danger of the gay gal coming onto the 12 year old girl, and I thought that it was entirely wrong of her to suggest that it was. I also think that the Christian family reveled a bit too much in materialism..and I was ashamed of that too..it's one thing to work hard and earn nice things-a whole nother-when ya brag about it. I was both glad and proud, that the Christian children, didn't treat the gay gal..like their parents did. At the end of the show when the couples met,the gay gal convinced me that folks really do just want to be happy and share their lives together-without being judged..and I'm ashamed and apologize for any hurt that I have caused. The republican gal was cold-hearted and cruel, and I don't know if the dad, learned a dang thing.
I think that I learned some things last night, like maybe I have more hang-ups..than Carter has liver pills..lol..,and that maybe I should just remember, all folks deserve to be happy..and that it's not up to me to say who can and cannot be happy..that's God job..and I best just leave it to Him. I wish that I could apologize to the gay gals, for the behaviour of the Christian parents.
Y'all have a good one...Torog

I don't care what anyone says about you Torog, I think your a good guy. To me, being able to see your own mistakes is quite a thing to be able to do. I have trouble with it myself, and I really respect your ability to do things like this post here. An open mind can change, a closed one can't. Be secure in knowing that you have one of the most open minds here.

Yeah, I would hate people to judge republicans and Christians by the ones they see on tv. It is very easy to stereotype people, it's harder to see through that and accept each individual person. Everyone is different. :)

Howdy sawleaf,
I tell you what--that's a big 10-4..I was appalled by the behaviour of the Christian woman, and her husband wasn't much better.

Torog, just when about to throw my keyboard at the screen in a fit of rage, you write something like this and convince that there is hope for understanding, and moderateness, and tolerance. No need to accept or approve or enjoy or anything like that, but I think there is the need to tolerate. I'm happy when I read things like this. :D

Howdy FLESH,
What can I say-'cept that you're right..there is a need to tolerate..to find a way to live with each other, without causing the kind of pain, that I witnessed. I deserve to have ya beat me about the head and shoulders-with your keyboard..go ahead-I can take it..I got one heck of a thick skull...lol.
Have a good one...Torog :o
