Sativa/Indica.

Sativa is high, it gives a clear up high feeling, all in your head.

Indica is stoned, it gives a heavy full body couch lock feeling. Nothing to do with the head.

Most strains are a cross between the two - it's not easy to find landrace strains [pure sativa, or pure indica, although pure indica is slightly easier to find than sativa.]

The only time indica could get you high [give a sativa like head high [cerebal]] is if it was harvested WAY too early, as the THC isnt mature. [Clear Trichomes]

Indicas tend to be smaller, bushier plants, with thicker leaves, darker leaves and generally a stronger smell. They also generally have a higher resin production [more trichomes, higher % THC/CBD/CBN.

Because of that, and the way indicas work on the body, indica strains or indica dominant strains tend to be better than sativas for medicinal use.

A mix between the two is nicest, which is why most strains are a cross.

Simplified...

High -- Still functional, just slightly intoxicated. You know, when you are just starting to feel really good but your reflexes and sense are still mostly in order.

Stoned -- Not entirely functional, very buzzed, senses and reflexes affected (how much depends on lots of things including personal tolerance, strength of the weed and just how stoned you are lol)...you know that feeling when you just want to sit on the couch, or maybe you find it hard to focus on more than one thing...When I'm stoned, I have a bad habit of lighting a black and mild cigar and just holding it, not realizing I'm doing it, or I will be just holding (not hitting) the pipe for like 10 minutes.
