Help new grower

Hey everyone. MY mom finally decided its ok if i grow a plant in my closet as long as my dad dosnt know. Thier for its gonna need to be kinda hidden. a couple questions. ohh be4 that Im only gonna grow 1 or 2 plants. Ok what kind of fertalizr should i get. Can i start it out in a shoebox? How can i prevent it from getting huge. and just basically what i should do in the beggiinng . Sorry if i sound like such a newb but im a newb when it comes to indoors causr this is my first time.

You've got ALOT to learn my friend or else its not going to be worth growing. First off do you want to grow soil or hydro? Second of all, what kind of lighting are you going to be using (HPS, MH, MV, Fluro)? Also what type of plant/strain will you be growing? The one thing that determines all of this is your budget, how much are you willing to spend to grow, and how much are you expecting (potency)? All of this is a major factor while growing. Growing isnt as easy as plopping a seed in some soil, add a little light and a little water now. Just remember we're here to help ya along the way! :-)

liek 100 bucks. dont care about the potency just some decent smoke is all i want.

God i cant believe you, im in the EXACLY SAME situation lol! my mom said its ok to grow some too ( we must have lucky parents) just my dads the problem, dont want him checking in my room. i would really suggest you read this site, be curious dude, it answered all my questions and i hope it will answer yours, just choose a subject and click" read faq" then a bunch of seperate faqs will appear, click one that u would like to read, most of or all your answer will be there...

Well since your a newbie like me, you should get CFLS( compact Fluorescent lights) Read about the "whats the deal with fluerescent lights" thread here in this section... Reasons why CFLS are great?
1. Cheap... Inexpensive... Do not take almost any room at all compared to those HID or HPS lights that take a hella lot of room, make noise, and make a lot of heat( from what i've heard)
2.You can modify them and make a reflector out of the cfls to concentrate light on the plant ( also explaiend on overgrow)
3. The kelvin degrees on the cfls make all the difference, the specktrum will either promote veg state. decrease veg. state., promote flowering stage, and so and so...
