Hey guys,
I'm going to be checking in daily to do mod stuff and answer as many questions as possible, but I just got a confirmation yesterday that my dog Tess is dying of cancer with a month or so left. So you'll have to forgive my spotty presence.
She's already a ghost of her former self, 20 pounds lighter than she was at her prime, and only 5 years old.
So I'm just trying to keep her comfortable. Wish me luck.

stinky, I am so sorry about your dog. I went through the same thing a while ago. Take care of her and yourself and cherish this time. I'll be here if you need anything.

I am soo sorry to hear about your pup. I know just how painful it can be.
I know this sounds stupid, but when I went thru the same thing with my chow, I took out all the old pictures I had of her, and I'd just sit there for hours with her on my lap, showing her the pix, remembering where we were, what we did, all while letting her eat the peanut butter right out of the jar. It seemed to me that she knew what was going on, but she was just being herself...my rock.

Damn Sis .
Way sorry to hear about Tess .
Cancer took the white dog from us fast too . Drag her around everywhere w/ you and spoil the hell out of her while you can . Losing your best friend is hard . They devote almost every waking minute to us , never do us wrong , never befriend us . Wish there were more ppl. like our dogs . =( .
Prayers from J and I both .
G/B Stinky -n- Tess too . :sadcrying

Very sorry to hear this.
I agree with X-C....give her everything you can for as long as you can bt don't be afraid to do what's right for her when the time comes.
I personally believe animals live in the moment. They aren't worried about "hanging on just one more day"......that part is for us because we love them so much. This doesn't make things any easier...just something to think about.
My prayers are with you both.

Thank you.
She's snuggling on the sofa still, I bet. I brought her to work yesterday, and drove her up to the grow shop with the heated car seats turned on full blast. Going for car rides is the only thing left that can get her excited enough to jump off the sofa.
Did you know that a seedling heat mat makes a good dog bed warmer? Poor little thing's got no fat left on her. I think my cuttings can stand the cold for a while. At least The Tess will be cozy.

Stinky, sorry to hear about your beloved Tess. We lost 3 cats in the last 18 months. I loved them all dearly. My favorite cat Romeo a blue abbysinian suffered from kidney failure it was less than a week from dignosis to his passing. He died in my arms. I wish you guys the very best. As Crispi said I wish more people were as sweet as our animal buddies.

Stinky:
I'm saddened to hear about the condition of Tess...and I know just how difficult it can be to carry on day-to-day activities with a terminally ill and beloved pet at home. I pray that the time you get to spend with her will be happy and as pain-free as possible for the both of you.
Sincerely,
Mr. C

Thanks again for the kind words.
Tess is still with us but now just sleeping most of the time. She'll still twitch the end of her tail when I scratch her ears but I don't expect her to see the end of the week. I'm just trying to keep the poor girl comfortable and spend as much time with her as I can.

So sorry to read about this. My cat died a few weeks ago and it broke my heart. But, like your dog, he had some health issues. My dog was devastated too...wouldn't eat for a few days, wouldn't get off the couch. Tells you how important animals are to each other, as well as to us.
Remember the good times you had together and how happy you made Tess for years and years. That's what she's thinking, I'm sure.

Sorry to hear that Stinky.Im sure you made life as comfortable as possible for her.
Im sure you really miss her now but it was better to have had her the whole time and get upset when she passes away as opposed to never having her.

Hi sweetie- I will try to reach you by phone, but this is backup.
I wish I had known sooner what was going on with you and Tess; what a hard time you've been going through! But my thoughts are with you now, and I can imagine how heartbroken you must feel- I lost my dear Emerson 2 years ago and it was devastating! I can only hope his sweet spirit is snuffling over to Tess' bright spirit right now! She was such a darling dog and she knew how much you loved her. I know she had a great and fun life with you- a dog's dream! I am glad she didn't suffer for too long, and that you were with her.
Please let me know if you want company - or just to vent on the phone.
