View Full Version : Stepping on toes...

Hello. I noticed I did a bunch of posting this last weekend, and it got me to thinking...am I over-posting?
I just wanted to make sure I'm not stepping on anyones toes, by answering posts' about growing techniques and troubleshooting and stuff.
I know how some experts can get when you 'mark' their territory, so I prefer to avoid controversy. (experience from other forums)
I'd like to think I offer sound advice, and I don't want to offend anyone that may have different ways of getting to the same finish line, but if I get out of hand, please help reel me in, lol.

Thanks...Rusty

p.s. how the heck do you cut-n-paste in here?

I only shout out when people give bullshit "I think" answers, my motto is if you don't know then don't just guess. If you avoid that pitfall then it's all good IMO.

Rusty Trichome you are a most welcome addition to Cannabis.com. We always can use fresh ideas.

Fire off a post/new thread any time you want. (it's really fun, if you are high.....:stoned:)

Every bit of help is... um... helpful!
:D

As long as you're speaking with a voice of reason and experience, everyone will benefit and to say 'hey shut up this is my yard you're pissing in' would be totally at odds with the interests of the community at large.

There have been a few posts lately that referred to the recent ban of a member who was posting bad info- this was NOT a territorial thing, it was a decision made in the interest of minimizing confusion to new growers, and minimizing work for the mods to clean up after the inevitable flame wars that arose from it.

I pee in the yard, but it doesn't scare the deer away like I was told ... :(

well...if you learn it the way I did...you just stumble the fuck around...and do it by accident...works great!

Don't use quick reply..use post reply....(more options)

Sometimes neighbors can be worse then deer...atleast I think so.

Rusty - Welcome to CanCom!

Good advice is always welcome. It's the people in the middle of their first grow, who think they know everything, that need to be discouraged from posting BS "advice". It confuses the noobs who are relying on this site for accurate information.

For those "regulars" who are trying to be helpful, another knowledgeable soul helps cut down on the typing. ...and ya never know when you just might learn something too.

To cut and paste I jut highlight with the left mouse button, right click on the highlighted area, select cut or copy then left click it. Go to where I want to paste, set the cursor with a left click right click on the cursor (or very near to it) select paste, left lick on paste.

If you mean how do you use the quotes function, click on quote in the lower right corner of the post.

This is what I wish to avoid. Previous experience with another forum's turf war made me ask. (it was/is a saltwater reefing site, a while back)
Anyway, I truly appreciate a forum run with an open mind, but with a firm hand on dealing with bullshit. Especially with a subject matter like this.
Thanks.

Nope...equally as stressful at times.

Kinda funny, actually...The only local fish shop...2 weeks after we invested a couple of grand on equipment, fish, supplies, food and corals...went out of business. Had to learn everything everything over the web.
Here's one of the pix when this tank was new...everything in this tank is considered an animal. (except the 'live rock') Each larger grouping is made up of hundreds and thousands of individuals. (and every one of 'em is always friggin hungry) Then there's part of the clam on the far left, the skunk cleaner shrimp, and our pajama cardinal.

Oh yeah, I had to go change the settings in my CP for the cut-n-paste, but thanks for the replies.

I know how some experts can get when you 'mark' their territory, so I prefer to avoid controversy.

You and I both know anytime a skunk goes around pissing on things, there is going to be controversy.:hippy:

I think you got the message from everyone else though. The more knowledge that is available to go around, the better we as a group can collectively grow.

Plus there are a lot of people who talk nothing but shit, so your wisdom is more then welcome here.
