Is it the ability to face something without fear? meaning..having no fear at all...complete confidence...

or the ability to face something even though you are fearful ?

also known as bravery and fortitude, is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation. It can be divided into "physical courage" â?? in the face of physical pain, hardship, and threat of death â?? and "moral courage" â?? in the face of shame, scandal, and discouragement.

ok so it doesnt matter if you are fearful because facing the obstacle is courage because you are overcoming your fear

Definitely the second one. If someone has no fear, even when there is clear and present danger, then there's something wrong with their mind.

I think it's the ability to face something despite fear. Anyone who says he/she doesn't feel fear at least occasionally is a liar. Courage is about getting past the fear to stand up to some type of pain or danger. Courage is about taking risks.
