Hey Everybody! I was wondering who around here blows glass, and how did you get into it? Do you do it at home or at a studio? What kind of equipment is involved, and what kind of instruction is needed?

I did a cursory Google and didnt really come up with much info on blowing pieces. That is what i really want to learn how to do. Any information is a good thing (especially to keep a free society). Let me know

I think most people probably do it at some sort of studio, given the temperatures necessary to work with molten glass. You can find a lot of information from the Wikipedia article and its links.

i would love to do it at home, but it takes lots of startup $$ like a minimum of 10 grand for a cheap kiln and an entire glass blowing studio might run ya like 30... but i know these people that took a loan for that shit and paid it back in 3 months just from selling pieces..

I did Ceramic's in HS, and I was looking into going to school for Ceramic's, and Glass blowing, the Lab fees are SOOO high, and a home studo in Ceramic's is $$$ As hell, And blowing Glass has more expensive Materials, and equpiment, Good luck if you want to get into it, but be prepared to spend some Green
