I am looking for information regarding the use of Medical Marijuana in iowa.
About 5 years ago I ended up in the hospital with extreme abdominal pain.
After several tests and having spent 3 days in the hospital they diagnose me as having a spastic colon and proscribed a tranquilizer. This did work and after 3 mounts of taking 3 a day he told me to cut down to two a day then one a day and then to stop taking them all together and then only take them as I needed.
This was great I was only taking 20 or so a year and at one time I want almost a year without taking any.

One day I was getting the abdominal pain again and was out of pills I called my doctor and was told Iā??d have to go back to the hospital for re-testing before heā??d give me a new proscription. My medical inc will not cover the tests so Iā??d have to pay the $3000.00 out of my pocket.

I was talking to my sister about this and she ask if I ever tried Marijuana. I told her I used it in the 70ā??s but
Didnā??t know anyone that used it anymore.
She got some for me and it did work even better then tranquilizers and without the upset stomach that I got from the tranquilizers. I ask my doctor about Medical Marijuana and was told that he and the rest of the doctors in this community will never proscribe Marijuana for anyone.

So Iā??m looking for a doctor in this area that has an open mind about Medical Marijuana.

Any suggestions welcome

Bob

There are 12 states (and one more technically) that allow medical cannabis. Yours is not one of them. Now way, is any doctor going to prescribe or recommend cannabis- they would lose their license! California, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, Colorado, Vermont, Hawaii, Nevada, Maryland, Maine and Rhode Island with Arizona being the kinda/sorta one. Pick one and move!

You might be interested in my medical post (see link below). I don't think I had studies on gastro-intestinal hassles- Crohn's, IBS, etc., when I made it originally, but here are some for you now. You ought to turn your doctor on to my post (also available at treatingyourself.com, a nice MMJ site with minimal silliness). After all, your doctor may not be ready for C.com! :D Let me just pull up the URL. There it is!

I can't really help you, but, I was going to see a doctor in Iowa, recommended by an older patient, who'd write a prescription. It is illegal there, but, this doctor would do it. I can't help you find him and the lady moved to northern California to take care of her dying brother. I went up to Wisconsin, before Christmas, and only lasted until February. I probably never would've had the chance to see him. I'll die a vengeful man, unless someone can wipe my permanent frown off my face.

I would keep looking.
