Well my dad and brother just stopped by and told what I found to be a hilarious story of what just happened to them.

My dad just moved from his apartment to a house he bought. They just moved in and cable hadn't come to hook them up yet. We all live in a decent sized town of 90,000 right next a small city, so it is a small town feel on a large scale. Anyways, they both wanted to check there email and stuff so they went driving around with their laptops at midnight looking for hot spots, this alone made me laugh. They ended going to Panera bread to use the free wireless there. It was closed but the signal still on so they sat out in the car on the computer. My dad was still on and my brother put the seat back to wait for him.

According to my dad about a minute later a cop pulled into the parking lot parked and came over. So my dad closed the lid on his laptop and my brother sat up, I guess this looked suspicious to the cop. When he came to the window he starting asking questions, then he asked my dad to get out and take a breathalyser because my dad told him he had 2 beers an hour ago. My dad blows 0.00, so he told him to get back in the car, then my dad said he started asking the normal stuff, why they're there stuff like that. But then he started talking to my brother, who is 19, asking him if this really was his father, asking him if everything was ok, shining his flashlight up and down him, then right before leaving leaned in a little and asked
"Is anyone in here being held against there will?" LOL.
I mean I could see if he was younger but at 19 with a patchy beard and 6'2" 175 lbs it's not really the same thing. He then suggested that they go back home.

I know I laugh when they stopped but to tell me and thought I'd pass it along. I guess it would be funnier if you knew them because that makes it even better.

Actually I think Im just passing along an event I was told about that I found funny, I have no need to "poke fun at the law" and if I wanted to trust me I'd have a better story then that, and it's not like it was a kid in the car it was my brother who looks even older then he is, I mean they were sitting outside of several major retail stores with 2 laptops and other digital equipment, if he was "doing his job" at least well you would think he might want to question that, like trying to hack wep codes etc. how tj max got ripped off, more with two adults in the car then if a 19 yr is getting blown by a 50 year old, so even if you commend them for investigating you could still fault them for not even noticing or questioning 2 laptops, 2 external hard drives, extra batteries, camera all the electronics they picked up from there apartment that night as being even a little suspcious outside an are that has Staples, Best Buy, Wal Mart, Petsmart, Bed Bath and Beyond Barnes and Noble etc.. Not that they were or even could do that but it's still kind of a big thing not to investigate, and instead assume the other.

Weekend Warrior, I just spent half an hour un-bumping a shitload of ancient threads you revived with posts like 'haha' and 'lmao'.

Please refer to the forum rules about members who make contentless posts. Unless you have something significant to add, the bumps are NOT appreciated.

Thank you.
