proper way to use grinder?

i just placed an order off a website for a thick ass bowl and the place threw in a free grinder. Im actually very excited about getting the free grinder because ive never used one. Ive never used one, Ive never seen one( my local smoke shop doesnt even sell them), and i dont know neone that owns one. so here is the problem. I know how to use it(im not a complete idiot) but its the speed im not sure about. I see some posts saying that their plastic grinders break teeth and stuff like that and i was thinking that they could be doing something wrong with the speed. I mean there are two sides.
1. go slow so that the teeth dont break from the brute force
2. go fast so that the teeth slice through the weed.
btw it doesnt say whether its a metal or plastic grinder but im assuming that its gonna be plastic because its free. Im used to just breaking up my bud but it will be a nice change once in a while and ive heard its better for rolling joints.

dont use a plastic grinder for really dense bud, and dont put stems or seeds in it.

make sure you definitely break the bud up enough to take any seeds out. I've caught myself throwing huge nugs in the grinder when I'm stoned realizing that I've just grounded up some seeds and almost threw them in whatever I'm about to smoke

Slow short bursts otherwise the mull will turn to dust. :) Other than that its pretty easy to use.

If the grinder you are getting has plastic teeth, go slow, but plastic ones suck and dense weed just snaps them right off.

Metal teeth you don't have to worry about as much. Just put the buds in there and twist, they won't break.

An electric grinder, is well, self-explanitory

fuck man around here you can get a nice metal grinder about the size of a gatorade cap for 10 bucks. once you try one you'll never want to be without it.

I have a 5$ plastic grinder. I put schwag in there and the stems and seeds dont break the teeth.

My grinder filters out the stems and leaves them in the top compartment with the ground up bud in the 2nd compartment. As for seeds, I just pick them out of the ground up bud. If any got ground up with it, then so be it! :p

Just get a coffee grinder they usually say coffee and herb grinder so you should be fine. :thumbsup::D

I can't imagine my life without my grinder! :smokin: I don't remember the days of breaking up my weed. It's so much cleaner and neater this way. I have had this wooden one for 5 years and I smoke everyday. I LOVE it. It doesn't matter how you grind it- it should move losely when the weed is nice and crushed up fine. It moves harder at first and then loosens up. A good quality grinder won't break it's teeth even with the most compressed trees. SOMETIMES, with certain trees and after alot of use the teeth can get a little bent -you can always bend then back with pliers or something.
