Now the cold weather is upon us...even though I live in So Cal..the winters here are still very cool..
This winter I am going to hike a lot..cause the winter is hiking season here...Plus, I need to get conditioned for the 222 mile hike I will be taking next summer. I WILL ski this year...even if it is only to the local mountains..big bear, mountain high..ideally, I would rather go to Mammoth, cause I have never been, but that, I will have to wait and see..
Also, I know that I will be driving across country again within the next couple of months..my brother in law is getting medically discharged from the Army and they are going back to Ohio with my dad, but they need me to help get everything back there..Plus, hopefully I will set up something to hang out with Mrs G and Grazi from here:jointsmile: I can imagine that will be a fun ass smoking session..
What else do I want to do this winter? hmmm...make a lot of money and spend none..somehow it just does not seem possible...but, I can do it!
Plus, I want to do a lot more caching...pull myself out of my burnt out slump and hit 2000 found.
Lets hear about your winter things you want to do.

What are Southern Cal's average lows for say December or January?
As for me, I plan on waiting till we get a real big snow storm and go camping out in my woods a few days.
I'll be working - now the hire season is completely over [no one wants a boat in winter unless they're abit - well, you know... not right in the head.] i'll be working on the private boats we get in. Most of that is just GRPro clean and antifoul. Couple refit jobs and servicing them all. So i've got lots of fun ahead of me! At least the work is less, and theres not so much rush.

I'll be working 5 days a week, but I enjoy just walking around when it's snowing. Puff a joint and plug in my player and I'm totally happy. I prefer cold over heat as in the cold you can always layer up, but in the heat you can only take off so many clothes before the cops get called. ;)
No plans really. No one is coming for x-mas this year and I'm not going anywhere as taking time off during x-mas season, in retail, is not going to happen. I'll have 2 days off this winter for holidays: x-mas and new year's day, other than that, I'm pretty much stuck here in the city.
I don't mind though.

I'm definitely squeezing some skiing this winter, but my upcoming trip to Paris/Amsterdam took most of my vacation time! Maybe one weekend at some point.
Would smoking weed be considered a winter activity? :P

I want to go skiing this winter since I have not been in 25 years and never skied in California where the elevation is just a bit more than upstate New York.
I am also going to finish building my dream bike, a CB1100R replica that is beyond what the real bike ever dreamed of being.

Curling up in front of the wood stove with a big pile of seed catalogues.
Skiing in Vermont, both alpine and x-c, and snowshoeing.
Drinking enough eggnog and hot cider to fill a bathtub.
Building hydroponic pods for my spring veggies and herbs.
And then Feburary comes... time to put away all the toys and get ready seriously for the spring growing season.

Well we have a smelly old terrier and believe me your bulldogs can't be smellier than her, so Mrs NCM will be OK with them :)
