The Nader

The greatest homemade smoking instrument I know of is commonly referred to as The Nader among my friends and I.

A Nader can be made out of any plastic bottle (gatorade or vitamin water works best). To make one you simply burn two chokes at the base of the bottle across from one another. Then you add another blunt size hole to the base of the bottle between your two chokes.

To use you stick a blunt in the hole and inhale with your covering the chokes. You can watch the Nader fill with smoke and get as big as a hit as you desire. When you are ready you remove your fingers and suck fresh air through the chokes and the sweet mj enters your lungs.

This gets me more fucked up than any other method I am aware of. It is very important that the blunt hole is the right size so it is air tight.:thumbsup:

Has anyone else used this or a similar piece?
Is it known by any other names?
My friend learned it from his college roommate from New Jersey.

Why not just smoke the blunt?
Or use a bowl instead of a blunt so you don't waste so much weed for nothing...

It sounds awesome. I'll try it if I remember next time I have a blunt. I don't have them too often because when I smoke by myself I never have em, though I'd like to. I did this with a joint and a paper cup though and I got some huge ass hits on it.

This is actually weird, because I literally just learned of this over thanksgiving with my buddies. This was the first time we all were home from college so it was fun.

But back to the point, yea we didn't have a name for it and we only used the bottle once the blunt got pretty small. It was really convenient to finish off the blunt without getting burnt fingers. Probably shouldn't smoke it all the way to the plastic tho because that probably wouldn't be too healthy.

you seem to be misunderstanding man.
we DO smoke the blunt. we smoke it IN the Nader. and its not a waster whatsoever. I once smoked a blunt in the Nader until it literally was 100% ash and just crumbled into the bottle. :cool:

that's a steamroller - basically a pipe, but instead of a bowl, there's a place to put your joint (or blunt). I used one made out of a can with a last bit of blunt, and that worked out pretty well. Last week though, I tried switching the bowl on a homemade bong of mine with a joint - big hits without a lot of burn on the J, but it tasted kind of funny :wtf:

you cant call it a steamroller, u cant call it a pipe, you cant call it a bottle, you cant call it a bong....its simply The Nader.

Yeah me and my friends have been using these for awhile. But instead of just putting the blunt right in the hole we put a sockets(from a socket wrench) into it and you just put the blunt into the socket and you can just burn it all the way down. You can also put a bigger socket into the hole and pack bowls.

i can probably guarantee u that bong rips from a decent quality bong with decent weed will get you higher, without a doubt. I mean its sort of the same principle but a bong has water that filter some shit out and cools the smoke down so you can take larger hits than normal. but its not a bad idea i guess if u wanna try sometin different. keep tokin the herb!:rastasmoke:

heh.. i take joints and blunts SOMETIMES and stick them into my slide/bowl of my bong and smoke the whole J or blunt through the bong. something about it takes my head off my shoulders.

I think everyone's got their local name for this sort of device, just like everyone's got their share of unique names they use for buds. Back in the days when parents were frequently around and I was just a little highschooler we had a drink name for everything we did... weed was Pepsi, ether was Dr. Pepper...

Yours has the individual touch for having twin carbs. The basic idea is still that you can only make so much smoke from a single inhalation, so concentrating multiple inhalations worth of smoke inside a bottle and then hitting it all in one go gives you the wonderful overwhelming power hit. I've heard the term Nader before, although I don't remember where (big surprise). Good idea for what to do with the end of a blunt, if I do say so myself. I HATE leaving roaches laying about (although my friends do, and then collect them for one last smoke when the bag runs out). I stick em in a pipe's hole and finish em off on the spot. The Nader sounds more fun for a party situation though, I will have to try making one

Sick, I've done this before. Back when I was new to toking the ganja. Tried it on my lunch break once back when I was in high school, was one of the highest I have ever been. I remember walking through the hallways leaning against the locker before I collapsed. I couldn't feel my legs for a good 20 mins. Hearing was slightly muted and had tunnel vision for a while too. The rest of the day just flew by:jointsmile:... I think I will do this next time I smoke a j since i always have a couple bottles of water with me... :)

I don't think some people realise that the bigger the carb hole, the harder and faster the hit. A double carb (or a fingerprint-sized carb) really makes that difference :)

I've seen people do this with empty toilet paper rolls, kinda. Basically a huge steamroller (referring to the pipe design of that name). Just put a hole in the side for joint/blunt and cover the end to hit.
