carb hole in spoon?

hey, i've always wondered what the purpose is of a hand pipe's carb. is it to clear the stem of the pipe, or to let more air in for a softer hit or what? thanks

it just helps to get any smoke out of the pipe and get it down into your lungs basicly.

Yep it clears the pipe so you can inhale the rest in the chamber but I wouldnt say it makes a smoother hit. For me, its harsher but does the job :jointsmile:

It can be used to clear the smoke from the pipe or to basically fine tune the hit, like you can use it to keep a cherry going but mainly people just use it to clear the pipe.
