View Full Version : How do you set your alarm?

When I have to get up for things in the morning I use the alarm on my cell phone and purposely set it so that it goes off every minute or two between the alarms and snoozes starting 15 min before I have to get up. My reasoning behind this is that after awhile I get so frustrated I just get up, I do not get up easily, and to turn all of them off I would have to wake up enough to where I get up anyways.
My wife however sets one alarm on her phone and then an alarm clock across the room, the funny thing is she has to get up 1 1/2 hrs earlier then me so she makes sure to get out of bed before that one goes off and that is how she makes sure she gets up. She is a morning person however because I am a night person and we have a 6 yr old, we always stay up talking, then a long goodnight and it's midnight by the time she's asleep. Even with me not working it still feels like we never have enough time together, and when my son is in school it makes me miss the summer, I still haven't gotten used to him being in school.
Anyways I'm high:stoned: and rambling but I was just wondering how some of the rest of you set your alarms in the morning.
one alarm: the cell phone
my phone randomly shut off one night the other week.
missed my first two classes.
oh well. :stoned:
I have mine set for 4:45am everyday apart from sunday, i dont have one on sunday. I dont get up easily, so it's on the other side of the room. I get really pissed off though every morning. Then i have a joint, a beer and im out the door by 5:30am and in work by about 8 - 9am. If the traffics bad it'll take up untill midday. I turn up for work looking as rough as a badgers arse, unshaven [grown back by the time i get into work] and in a foul mood from idiots on the road and being tired.
Really i should go to bed earlier, but i probably dont get to sleep untill about 1am every night, some nights i just dont sleep. I do an allnighter once every fornight or so, for some reason i just dont get tired every now and again. And theres no point laying a boiling hot bed with a semi when i could be watching TV in my comfortable wingback chair smoking a joint.

I don't have an alarm clock. I wake up at 5am precisely every day, light out or not. It's weird. If I have to go to the airport or something super early, I'll set the cell phone AND have someone call me to get my ass out of bed. A car pulling into my driveway will have me wide awake at the window, but I can sleep through an alarm.

I forgot to add that my wife calls me 3 min before I have to get up too.

Being that I currently work nights, I usually set the alarm for 5pm-in the shower by 5:15 and out the door by 6.

i set my radio/alarm clock for 7am for my early classes, and 10 am for my late ones. i just need one alarm cuz as soon as i am up, i can't fall back asleep. i am a morning person, but also a night person. as soon as the alarm goes off i am up. i never hit snooze. i don't even know how to work it.

I set my radio alarm, but only as a safeguard as I have never actually needed it. My mental alarm is flawless. Whether I have to wake up at 10:00 for classes for 5:30 to work with my dad, I wake up a few minutes before my alarm goes off without fail. But I think the physical alarm may be setting my mental alarm; making me wake up a few minutes before it goes off because I HATE the sound of an alarm in any form!

I don't have to set an alarm. I have some natural internal alarm clock that wakes me up reliably. All I have to do is think, "OK, I have to be up at 7 tomorrow," and I'll wake up about 5 minutes before 7. I've done this since college, and it's a good thing because I really hate the sound of alarm clocks going off, buzzing obnoxiously and waking peacefully sleeping people out of sound slumber.
I've never been an easy, heavy sleeper. I wake up easily for other reasons, too, not just for morning wake-up times.

It's a handy "function" to have, isn't it?
If only I had an internal thermostat so I could set my comfortable temperature, too. That way I wouldn't be cold all the time!

I have not used an alarm clock since some time in the early eighties, don't need it. I wake up early everyday and if I need to wake up even earlier it just happens.
There is an alarm clock in the livingroom and on all of our wrist watches but we never use them.

I am with all of you..I have never needed an alarm clock...I have always woke up around 5:30 am for as long as I can remember..even if I go to bed at 2 am, I still get up at that time..

when I'm on a good sleeping schedule (having to wake up constantly at the same time (7:00 AM - mon-fri) after a few days of that, then i start waking up before the alarm clock like 5 mins like what u guys are talking about ^^.
however, if i dont have any set days and can do whatever i want all day, like right now, when im jobless, but self employed at the same time, so i work when i need to. and i just wake up whenever, sometimes its 1pm, sometimes is 10, but most of the time is 11:30-11:40 and can stretch it to 12:30 most days.... and i go to bed from 12-5AM its a random schedule... oh and with this schedule waking up is the worse part of the day everyday
but with my set schedule, when i wake up, im kinda groggy, but 3-4 mins after that its like i have been up for hours.
Side note* I have opened my eyes right after waking up, look at the ceiling and just say outloud what time it is, and funny thing is, 50% of the time i a dead on, its really freaky.. like i say its 7:21 and 50% of the time im correct, its like i have a clock.

How do you set your alarm?
I usually push 2 buttons and pull up the side switch.
Today I am setting it to 6:00 AM, Nov. 29th, 2007.

I'm very much like Gandalf, I will set my alarm, but because i hate the sound of it, I will naturally wake up a few minutes before it.
Oh and i am very much a morning person, once i'm awake, thats it ;)
