When you are about to flower, are there any special accommodations you should make for your babies? I've heard of people beginning at 18 dark/6 light and gradually decreasing for a week and a half or so to 12/12 to reduce stress on the plant. Also, if you are going to top, should you top right before you begin flowering, or the first day into it? Thanks for the help guys.

If im not mistake topping is done around the end of the first week of flower. [someone correct me if im wrong] and personally i just put my plants under 12/12 right away. As for other accommodations, make sure you have complete darkness for your babies on the 12 hours of dark and i guess the switch of nutrients from veg to flower would be another accommodation.

generally your suppost to top, let heal for two weeks then switch to flowering.......but that can be strain dependent and such

No pruining should be done in flowering. You can take a clone up to a week into flower if you're desperate.

I take my plants out of the 18/6 veg cycle, put them in total darkness for 24 hours, then place them into 12/12. I helps trigger the flower cycle stressfree.
