So.. Mr. Nagual and I met up today and as quickly, as you can spell the word spontaneously, found ourselves up 2000 feet above sea level. I say that because it was quite an ad-libbed decision!

We started having to crawl through spooky looking trees.. infested with poison-oak, which we luckly got spared from. Then the rest of the Way was a free spirited bushwaking hike up a slippery and steep hill. Not mentionning the rock jumping and climbing that had to be done as well. :D

Well here's what it was like once we reached our destination:

Then we finished off the night with a nice blunt and a fat meal at The Soup Plantation.

Btw geo..I'll need your e-mail address if you want the pics!

He's this outdoorsman, that wrote some cool books on nature philosophy, and tracking and scouting, and surviving... pretty interesting.

Hey Owl, we were talking on our adventure sometime yesterday about the John Muir trail..how dope that would be..I am down for that shit..I need to get in better shape..just a little..just need to start hiking more again..finish up getting all the gear I need and I am there..total blackout in the middle of nowhere is the best.

if you do start getting gear
you should do some homework on lightweight stuff
try and get a pack a sleeping bag a pad and a bear can [bear vault 400]
try and keep that under 20 lbs.

I have hiked about 50% of the AT most of the time i had a 36 pound pack. One time i hiked for a week with just 17 pounds it was the most fun i had ever had. When i was a kid my dad use to say "Ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain." I always think about that when i go to pack my bag now.

I have done alot of hiking in my day. Listen to the man no more then 20 lbs. "Ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain"

I know that is no lie...we did no hiking in the Marine Corps..we just did straight humping...with their 10 lb sleeping bags..shitty rcksacks that creak and rip into your shoulders..to many mre's that which weigh to much..and they would always make you carry and extra pair of boots, more uniforms..rain gear, all kinds of bullshit..always right around 50lbs and on top of that..ammo, your weapon, a K-Bar...fuck that was a rant...was still a good time though:jointsmile:

But yeah, I will definitely be doing my research..cause I want light and really nice for a good price..
