First off, welcome to CanCom!

I don't know a darn thing about soil, but you really should turn off your caps lock. It's not only hard to read all caps, but it is considered yelling when used on a forum and is quite impolite.

If you want to know about soil, look at some of the stickies by "stinkyattic". She's got some real clear and easy-to-understand info about soil in there ...and when it comes to soil, well, actually, when it comes to anything about growing the herb, she really knows her stuff.

I believe they're all sorta limited when it comes to good soil. You could mix up your own soilless mix using perlite, vermiculite, worm castings, sand, etc. Just look up a soilless formula. You can find them on the site. And yes, you should use soil with little or no fertilizer in it for seedlings.

MG organic is the best you'll find at walmart but if you are going to use it indoors, add extra perlite!!!!!!!! And flush it well before you use it for seedlings.
Also buy a quality pH test kit (liquid indicator or a proper meter; expect to pay $10 for the liquid or at LEAST $40 for the meter) because it's peat based and you will need to monitor the runoff.
