Most of the time im thick skinned but a lot of the time if I do get hurt I dont let it show. That way the other person doesn't get the upper hand. Showing your hurt is a sign of weakness that shall not be tolerated.

I try to act thick skinned. But I'm really not.:(
I tend to replace the hurt with anger so it doesn't hurt quite as much.

I like to think I'm pretty thick skinned, I don't really let the unimportant things get to me.

A lot of people thinks that im thick skinned... but what i actually am is almost etherical, unmaterial... so most things which would offend or upset another people simply pass through me... and they interpret it like a thick skin...

i have no idea, i havnt cut my self open to measure my skins thickness for quite some time, brb ill go check to see if its thick or just normal.
I tend to react because i feel i shouldnt let anyone get away with anything. Most of the time i feel sorry for them because the insults are just so petty and pathetic. Theres few things someone could say that'd actually hurt as such, but still, if they try and insult me i'll put them in their place. Partly the principal. I dont/cant just let it go.

Yes, but I've got an Achilles heel about some stuff. If you stumble upon it, you'll know. It basically depends upon whether the insult comes from someone I respect or not.

I could only wish to be thick-skinned. I am way too sensitive about way too many things; I admire and envy people who truly are able to take stuff in stride.

I'll take it with stride, but I don't show that it hurt me, like rebgirl said, its a sign of weakness! Or least I try not to let it show, it shows sometimes because of you subconsciously act things out, even if its subtle, you can tell. At least I can.

years ago i had all of my skin removed and replaced with ballistic nylon and interlocking steel plates. i thought that would help end the pain of the slings and arrows, but it just made it difficult to pick up small objects. i then had all of my nerve endings severed, in hopes that it might soften the blows of life's sticks and stones. that only made it impossible to retrieve loose change from the sidewalk. as a final attempt at alleviating the woes of this mortal coil, i induced a twenty-three year long coma. though i did manage to slumber through most of madonna's gyrations and the clinton presidency, i still find myself subject to life's little emotional ups and downs.
the up side of the entire thing is that it gave me something to do with my free time. the down side is rather obvious.

Thick-skinned in regards to stuff here, which I think is a job requirement for mods. Thick-skinned about a few other things, too, but not about certain issues or with certain people. Dave, for instance, and my mom can wound me like no others.

I am a Los Angeles motorcycle rider, to be that and make it home alive one must have thick skin under the riding gear. Nevermind the fact that I was born and raised in New York where thin skinned people are eaten for breakfast.:food10:

Im not sure. Since the weekend after labor day it seems like i have been through non-stop hardships. I lost a friend to a horrible OD I have been kicked out of a apt, been through 2 tough breakups (can you say serial-dater?) cut off all contact with my parents whom all I wanted was a good relationship -i was even not allowed at thanksgiving, i have been at 4 diff peopls apts constantly moving my stuff. working overtime 6 days a week. im only 18 i am supporting myself 100% no money what so ever from my parents - which is hard i was spoiled as hell growing up but got cut off. and a lot of times i cry wen im alone and i am severly depressed and i have serious problem with drinking and even though im sick most morings i still go to work on itme everyday. havent been late havent missed a day. finally saved up about 1400 for a downpayement on a apt. and idk how everyday i just want to curl up in a ball and die but i still get out of bed sick as a dog and walk nearly a mile to the train. im proud of myself. but idk how many more setbacks i can handle.
i know my life isnt hard compared to a lot of peoples but its not easy being my age comming from a well off home and then man having nothing. thank god for a good work ethic :)

I would say I'm pretty thick-skinned...
Mainly with petty things such as somebody trying to insult me or make me look stupid. I just put them in their place and move on. If they have a problem with me then that is exactly what it is - their problem.
With things such as family/close friends I'm a little more easily hurt. I usually deal with that by ignoring people a while until I am ready to talk with them.
I don't usually hold grudges and see no need to if both of you have talked about your differences etc.
On the other hand, I won't bother with people who hold grudges over petty issues and refuse to discuss the issue whatsoever. Life is far too short to try and reason with people who cannot even reason with themselves...

Extremely thickskinned.
Don't care what people think of me.
DILLIGAF is my fave acronym.
I always say that people will believe what they want to and it's thier choice, it doesn't mean I have to agree with them.
