A cold front came through the night before Thanksgiving day.. today it was cold Dark and Rainy ALL day.. it was dark out till like 11 am.. It was the shit.. I sat in bed, rolled doobies and smoked em hahaha listened to music all day, a window open to hear the rain and thunder, made arroz con leche, and sweet flour "tortillas" with butter and hot frothy mexican chocolate milk.. yum!
. The world is my cave! same thing tomorrow, high of 47, 90% chance of rain.. I've got tomorrows doobies all ready to go.. I've got the munchies again, so im goin for Thanksgiving dinner leftovers...

What part of the country do you live in, Hilder? Today was cold, dark and rainy all day here in the Dallas area, too, and frankly it got old. I studied. Cooked. Took a nice long "nap" with my husband when our son went out. Then really slept for a while. But somehow I couldn't shake off that overly chilled, low feeling from not seeing any sunshine. The same is predicted tomorrow, only in the morning hours we may have snow flurries. I need to get a winter home on the Yucatan peninsula. Fast.

I like rainy, dark days. It's dramatic, thoughtful weather. Instead of being stupefied by the sun, you can reflect and meditate. I think it's the same reason northern countries developed quicker. The cold, wet weather forced them to think about how to shelter themselves and when the weather forced them indoors, they conversed and socialized and did other mind-stimulating activities (ironically, all that progression led to the most regressive thing ever, the television).

Ah.. rain would be nice... but it's too cold for rain during late fall and winter here... Instead we just have cold and dark and snow... which is only bearable til christmas, then it just kinda sucks

Reminds me of those upstate New York winters, clouds from skyline to skyline.

Or, Wisconsin.

Its gone!!! SOB... Its still cold, but sunny, not a cloud in the freakin sky... It's nice, but I liked my cave...
Its different for me, when it rains out, I dont even think to turn on the t.v. I like to listen to the rain. Most of the time i just listen to the rain falling, or play soft ethereal or classical music that compliments the sounds of rain and thunder, and the occasinal coughing fit cause I'm usualy tokin the entire time hahaha.. must be the wiccan in me, which is also weird cause I'm a fire sign.

It's one of those days here.
But I have a cup of hot cocoa and a burrito with some spectacular tomatillo-garlic salsa that my friend Demeter made with tomatillos from her own garden.
So I think I'll be all right.

Hilder I'm with you on that. I love cold, dark, rainy days. Days when I can just curl up under my covers and relax. Put on some Pink Floyd or some other instrumental music and just relax. Love it,

Hi sweetie- I'm glad you made it home safe and sound! It was great to see you and doggie too!

It is very grey here today, but I am about to curl up with a book on Native American Myth and hot cocoa as well! I may even nod off:D

Maybe it is not accurate... i think the hot countries are less developed because when the weather is beautiful, sunny, cloudless and hot, its far better to go to the beach than to work or do any "construtive" thing... (and i talk it from my own experience... as i live in a hot place with MANY beaches... and people actually DOES it... )

But i also like cold and rainy days... they are SO good for staying in bed just listening the rains sound...

Geezuz, complaining about cold with temps as high as that aint right.
Cold is when the temps go down to 0º F or less. Until it is in the single digits or negatives it just aint cold.
It is 46º outside now:( and expected to hit 74º.:D

I thought I was the only one who liked rain, cold weather, darkness. But, I also love winter and lots of snow; those 74 and sunny days are nice, but they can get old. I love cold, dark days that I don't have anywhere to go or anything in particular to do...and I ALWAYS have to have the shades open to watch it.

Living on top of a hill totally exposed to the elements on the west coast of Scotland, cold dark wet miserable weather is normal for us we just wrap up and get on with it, we have had mist for the last couple of days and visibility has been down to around 2 feet,
but on the clear day the views are incredible.

Man, here in south texas we have summer and winter. summer is typically 101 degrees F in the shade. Sticky, hot, humid, no wind, and cold ass winters.. maybe if were lucky a week of spring and a month of fall.. I would kill for dark rainy cold days all the freakin time... maybe I should move to london or where NMC is.. or like seattle.

Yeahhh, I think The Final Cut or some portions of the Wall are good. Maybe some Meddle, too.

I love playing guitar on days like that. We have beautiful cold fronts come in November and December- great blue-gray clouds, whipping winds, biting cold, heavy rains. Good for introspective days.

Well... yesterday was sunny... but today is cloudy and rainy... 23C/73F... and i think its beautiful... we dont get too many rainy days here... a perfect day to sleep until 5pm and dont feel guilty (as i would feel if i slept till this time if the weather were sunny... cause it would be an waste of good weather...)
Grey and dark clouds float in the heavens above... thin rain falls slowly... all the birds and insects are silent... it seems the day itself is more silent cause of the weather... and its also darker... and i LOVE it... damn! How i love it!

that's exactly what I meant. I gave the right hand, you gave the left. When the weather was warm, the people didn't have to figure out better ways to shelter themselves. In tropical climates, food grew naturally, so they didn't have to figure out irrigation and agriculture. I find it a highly interesting subject about which I want to know more.

geo has it right, the houses are gonna slide down the hill with the mudslides.

All of my riding roads are going to be sand and rock strewn after this rain and I will have to take it easy when riding through the twisties.

Today was a good day to stay home and stay baked.
I went to the post office and the gas station to fill up the Tacoma so my wife would not have to do any kind of manual labor then came home where I remain safe and sound.

Yeah I can't wait to have my own home where I can safely smoke weed in peace :)

Man those Tacoma's are the shit.. I went to the desert the other day, and one of my buddies has one. He was doing the gnarliest stuff out there! Great combination of speed, power, and maneuverability. I bet you have a lot of fun driving that baby around!

and geo, I see.. that makes a lot of sense indeed. Man listening to you talking about that kind of thing makes me want to join the service.. hahah
