seeing as you are a very endowed herb grower i will ask you this. should i switch to a bloom fert when my crops show sex and/or switch to 12/12 or slowly bring on the bloom fert nursing it off the veg fert? whats your thoughts? do you think a bloom fert of 5-10-5 is good or bad? :rastasmoke:

This is the guy giving information of everyone ELSES' grows? :wtf:
BASIC vegging 101: You need more nitrogen...
In hydro, I use Canna Aqua Flores (I only flower in hydro; all my mothers are compost-grown).
In veg, I use the Botanicare Pure Blend line and the local Cornucopia line. I was having Sulfur deficiencies previously and the Cornucopia is very rich in micros, and they are VERY available, especially with the organic-acids supplement. Problem solved.
For flowering compost-grown plants, I use the Cornucopia Bloom and Tricarboxylic acid supplement, along with TopMAx and molasses.

What's up old friends!
Nothing wrong with GH! But with so many products on the market, Bud Luv is experimenting with Supernatural Aqua line... It's a pre-mixed powder that is supposed to be pharmaceutical grade (GH is food grade). I'm not sure what that means, but it's worth a looksie. It's a little pricier but you don't have to add calmag+. The canucks at Supernatural did a good job with the ratios, I haven't seen one instance of any sort of even minor deficiency with the stuff, which would be unheard of for me with a GH grow. GH is kinda salty and will always show minor deficiencies throughout the course of a grow, particularly veg. These girls ain't ready yet, but they're totally stress free from day 1 and they should be some winners. I literally haven't seen a brown or yellow "pimple" on any of them.

Dyna Grow for veg. Less Dyna Grow, triple super phosphate, and fox-farms for bloom.

i plan to visit a hydroshop soon anyways. the shultz has never caused me troubles (no deficiencies, no burns) so i cant complain. however the flowering stuff is pretty low quality, and due to its being a solid ive toasted the tips at the bottom of one plant with it slightly.
i plan to switch to some proper ferts and molassas ASAP

Sup Hennessy ,
I switch to bloom nutes 1 week after the 12/12 lightcycle change . I've been cleansed into thinking doing both at the same time = added stress ? 5-10-5 ferts. Q' = I'd look for something higher in K .
Whats other ppls. take on this ?
Peace

For organic indoor or outdoor grows, veggies, houseplants/flowers or pot I used Mermaid fish emulsion for years. Now I use Neptune fish and/or kelp emulsions (there are a few different formulas).
I am just starting, with the last three or four grows to use the specialized fertilizer and suppliments as mentioned by others (not specifically General Hydoponics products) with a lot more experience with them and often they are hydro grows.
I tried Top Max last grow. This grow I'm using 3 part Technoflora plus the "Recipe" suppliments. I dunno, we'll see...
I"m still in soil and I'm not sure yet what works "best" for growing a little weed. I don't think it takes a lot of extra in a good organic soil.

The numbers aren't important. The ratio between the numbers is what you should be concerned with. 10-5-1 is the same thing as 20-10-2 if you use twice as much. For veg, you want a higher N and lower P, like 10-2-5. For bloom you want lower N, espicially nearing the end. There's really about 3 stages of blooming that should all have different ratios, but a good all around budding ratio is something like 2-10-5.

Haha! Only use that for flowering though; it can be too energetic for a vegging plant. I find that the veggers prefer ska. :D

Here's a BUMP reply.....
I use a solid soil build {in my signature} and then the liquid ferts are as follows....
Neptune's Harvest Fish Fertilizer and Bonide's Sea Green plus Kelp and Fish Emulsion at 1/3 strength and built to full strength for young week old sprouts.
Earth Juice Grow
Earth Juice Bloom
Earth Juice Meta K
Earth Juice Microblast
...added are Bio-Genesis Synergy then every 2 weeks a tea of kelp and 2 teaspoons of molasses in addition to feedings.
The Earth Juice Grow and Earth Juice Bloom strength is adjusted thru veg and flowering.
