I was hoping the experts of this forum could help me - I want a simple to use, easy to conceal (in a bathroom linen closet:D)
portable vaporizer, for daily use. I was thinking a portable one would be better since I could hide it...but would it break down with daily use? If a regular sized one is best, then what is the simplest? I don't want to be fiddling with too much stuff. I am a noob with vaporizers, but really need stealth, as well as something better for my lungs. I will check out the other threads here, but would really appreciate any suggestions, so that I can tell Santa what I want:jointsmile:

If by portable you mean 'no wall outlet needed', the choices are pretty few.
Most portables are 'vaporizer pipes' that use butane for heat. Either a really basic glass piece (almost like a crack pipe) that's hard to get consistent vapor from, or a $50 piece like the VaporGenie (easier to use but you can still burn your herb). The Vaporstar (about $50) is also a very good butane powered vape. I highly recommend a torch lighter with any vape that needs a lighter.
Then you've got a few electric portables. The Volatizer VM3 is the smallest and most expensive at $400. Vapir Oxygen Mini is the next smallest-$125, and a digital display but with only a 90 day warranty and a plastic taste/smell at least at the beginning. It runs on AC or a battery pack. The portable I own (along with the Genie) is the Vapolution-larger at 5" high and 3 1/2" in diameter and $150. It runs on 12v DC so you can plug into an outlet or the cig lighter in a car without needing a converter, just the supplied car plug. It's got an all glass vapor path, and with the optional 'glass straw' (AIW bowl) you don't need the 2-3 feet of tubing that other whip vapes require. And the AIW bowl comes free from Gotvape on their ebay auctions ($20 otherwise). Vapolution is very sturdy and the outside of the vape doesn't get hot at all. That's the problem with the Hot Box that swice1 suggested. The outside gets very hot. OTOH it doesn't look like a smoking device. Then neither does Vapolution. They could both pass for a fancy electric pencil sharpener.
You can see pics of all these vapes (except the Vapir. Go to air-2.com for that one) at vapeguide.com in the 'reviews' section. That site is somewhat out of date, but you can see various types of vapes there. The label that comes on the Vapolution comes off, for more stealth.

I only have gotten one Vaporizer,But I like it,I got the Vapolution and it is small enough to fit in a empty kleenex carton or even my waist bag. It's almost the size of my clenched fist.Comes with a car charger and Uses only a small pea sized amount.

Hey, I have a vapir oxygen 2 and I absolutly love it! I just bought the car charger for it because the battery pack has to be charged after ~1 hour of use. One bowl of good weed gets me absoutly flying. I have had it since October and have used it at least 3-4 times per week. It is still going strong.
The plastic smell goes away if you do an initial "burn in." Let it sit at 400F for about 10 minutes and then blow INTO the vap and some plastic vapor will come out the holes. after that, your good to go.
About the size of a soldering iron, it is very portable. I would recommend it.

I agree, the Vapir is the bast choice in portable vaporizers.
It's easier to use than the herbalaire, vapolution or hot box.
Get an extra battery for extended sessions!

It is more convenient (smaller) for portable use than the Vapolution, although the Vapo uses the same type battery pack. Vapolution though, is much better as a home vape, so it's a better dual use unit. I use mine at least as much in the house as outside of it. The herbalAire and Hot Box aren't in any way designed for portable use.
