Are they different? Do they describe two different types of marijuana intoxication or are they one and the same?
I always thought they were different until some friends told me they're the same. There's been times where I'd describe what I felt as being high and most of the time I'd say I felt stoned.

They mean the same thing, except high can describe a little high, moderately high, or really high, stoned is usually just really high

I always use high when I'm still able to do everyday things without being slower or something. Stoned is when I'm glued to the couch.

stoned just means really high. Like, so high you should be considered disabled.

Where I come from, Stoned = more tired, lethargic high - High = Less Hazy, more "up" feeling.

Yeah, I usually think of high as more of an active, talkative high and stoned as a mellow, chilled high. Or just as really high. Just because saying "stoned out of my mind" sounds pretty cool.

Well... i always thought that, while both may refer to being under the effects of weed, the word "high" would rather be used to describe the sativa effects (energetic, giggly, mind-racing thoughts, etc), while the word "stoned" would rather describe the effects of a indica (mellow, couchlocked, relaxed, etc).
But, i dont speak english... so it actually dont matters.
